I hold the button part (front side), of the snap with a pair of vise grip pliers to keep it from spinning under the drill bit, and damaging the leather. Do you know what these vest extenders are supposed to be for. I'm old school (48 years of riding motorcycles). We used to wear the vests open, or buttoned/snapped closed in the summer. In the winter you wore your leather jacket with the vest over it. You added extenders so you could keep the front closed while riding (over the jacket it couldn't reach to close without the extenders). Now days, people are mostly so heavy, and big bodied, that extenders have become common for use year round. LOL.
This is exactly what I need to do on an old leather jacket that was given to me. The top of the snap was shut in a car door or something. There's a perfectly straight line crease dent in it. I'm having to use a binder clip on it to keep the cuff closed currently.
Dianna A it looks like you posted this 2 years ago but I got some really good buffalo head that snaps and they also have Indian Head snaps through Amazon. I put them both on my boots that I have a Snap-On and also my chaps
I want to remove some decorative snaps from a vest, and reuse them on another vest (cause it has a decorative design). Is this possible? Or will the button be destroyed after removing it?
