Funny story? I threw my driver's license on the sliding cover of the nook where the AUX USB ports live, while hastily rolling up my sleeve for the second vaccine. Moments later, where did my license go? My daughter and I looked everywhere - no luck. Uh-oh. The only place it could've gone...? Using your video, I was able to remove the console and, sure enough, there it was in my Hyundai's dashboard innards! Thank you, Mr talented Reid!
FINALLY! I've been looking for a video like this for ages. I'm going to try this on my 2017 Sonata since that part of the car is pretty similar between the two.
@@kreigdurham1651 did you end up replacing it? And did it work after? I’m having the same problem, my cigarette lighter works and charges but my USB port doesn’t work at all.
Thank you for this informative video. Before I saw your video, I panicked and tried fishing out the sliding tray to access the space behind. I ended up breaking the spring mechanism of pushing the tray in and out, now it is opened all the time and when I push, it opens up immediately, do you know if this is a common issue and I can fix it by my self? Or should I get a professional look into it?
@@MrtalentedReid Looking at some of the reviews, people complain that the tool is not strong enough. Do you think it’s fine for minor projects like this such as removing the panel to get to the USB/Aux jack, etc? Thanks.
My 2020 elantra has two plugs in the back of the usb aux part. I bought the wrong one I guess. Now trying to find the correct one is hard. Part number is 96120-F201014x 😢 Great video though.
Thanks for the video. I did this on my 13 elantra but the new aux isn't recognized. I got another one and same thing. It's the exact same model as original. Is there something I have to do to get the car to recognize it? I tried undoing the battery terminal. When I put the old one back in, it is immediately recognized and I can select "aux"
I'm having trouble replacing my port on a 2013 hyundai elantra, it is a little different than yours and the plastic pieces around the shift knob are not coming off as easily as yours so I'm afraid of breaking anything. Any tips?
@@MrtalentedReid thank you! It was a little different instead of removing the plastic that directly surrounds the shifter, you have to first remove the grey plastic trimming that goes around the plastic of the shifter and up towards the stereo. So it was a little bit different than yours, none the less got it done, thank you!
I m adding a new aftermarket radio to my Hyundai Elantra 2017. I guess this factory USB and aux part is not going to work so I would like to add a HDMI IN/USB there and plug/connect into de new radio. Is it possible? Thanks!
Super helpful video! My Android Auto keeps disconnecting - do you think it would help to replace this port? Also, I have the same car as this - can you share a link to Amazon so I can buy this port? Thanks!
Hi, I did replace the part but it’s not working. Any idea what went wrong ? I checked all connections , could it be fuse? I didn’t know which fuse to check for the USB port connector
@@MrtalentedReid can make a video on where to locate those fuses? that will be very informative for those like me who needs help. thank you in advance bro

@@MrtalentedReid thanks for answer... I downloaded the software in a usb memory, but I couldn't update the system coz the internal memory is not enough... the SW is 20GB and the internal memory is only 3500 Mb... I've seen that other elentra 2015 and 2016 have the sd location by removing a bottom... in a elentra 2017 idk w is the sd location!
