This happened to me as well. Thanks for the tip! Very frustrating as I had to use the editor within RU-vid to cut the black screen out and unfortunately have to wait for the update.

Thanks for the video. What PERFECT SOLUTION i found is that there is always a fragment of a audio / video clip after your main content somewhere in blank space. Just find it and delete it. you are done. simple is that.

Yes, I just held down my left mouse button and dragged a box and found a hidden audio file.... once deleted that solved the black space problem..

Hey, I got one more solution. If you go to render or produce window ,its give the option to trim the blank space so you can trim the blank part. I tried and got final output.

there is a very slim part of the video or audio you left behind , find that , right click,choose remove& choose the first one i think it said fill the gap.

There is an easier way, I right clicked somewhere after the end file and it said something like move all clips. not 100% how I did it or where I clicked, maybe on the end line or after but you can do it this way. Sorry for not being accurate but I def did it. Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. I remember such or similar message. But based on my further experience there was always something on the right side ... I mean some leftover from moving stuff around and you just have to find it .... or do the 'trick' somehow.

I have PD15. Fooling around with your suggestion, I placed the timeline marker at the end of the video I wanted to keep and then clicked on the yellow rectangle and held it as I dragged it right on the timeline. I let up on the left click and right clicked the resulting yellow field. That gave me the option to remove, which I did, and voila! The extraneous dark space was gone.

I continue to have this same problem -- and it is clear that this has been an issue for years. It is not very user friendly, if you can't see why your video produces minutes, or hours of black screen *after* your actual video and audio clips are done on the timeline.

What I end up doing is importing my already "produced" video with the stupid black screen tacked on to the end, back into Power Director as a source Mp4. Then I go to the end of the video and cut that piece off it, and RE-PRODUCE it a second time. This seems to work. But it really is a problem that should not exist in the first place. Power Director needs to correct this problem so that people don't have to find work-arounds. It should be immediately obvious if there is "black space" at the end of your timeline -- and there should be a built in way to eliminate it. It shouldn't require work-arounds.

Yeah PD has so many problems since many years which they never solve, but I can assure you ... it's exactly same with other editors. Also struggling now with Kapwing. Just different problems .... lol

I had the same problem and found an easy way to fix it. On your video at 3:51 you clicked on the audio track just after where your audio ends. It came up with a long gray bar. That bar is selected when you clicked on it. Now just hit the delete key and it goes away and your time line ends at the end of the move. Voila!

Why do you think it was this part which was causing the problem? There will always be a gray area displayed when you hit empty space, but doesn't mean it will solve the problem when you remove it .... but maybe in a special situation. The problem didn't come back here anyway ... but maybe will try next time I face this issue. Thanks for the idea anyway 👍

I'm still convinced that there's always something, but you have to find and delete it. Or maybe it's really a bug. Don't know. If you find a better solution - just let us know here - thanks ;-)) BTW - would be interesting to see what happens if you press 'ctrl+a' instead of using the mouse and then see what happens when you paste it in a new project - unfortunately forgot to try and since then I never had the problem again.

@@allcheckout I figured it out. As long as the rest of your track is all clear, the program removes the black space when you publish. After I used publish the black nothingness was gone. You just have to recheck and make sure you do not have a small action somewhere down the line. Mine had stuff I certainly don't remember messing with far down the timeline.
