I always loosen the lug nuts about a half turn while the tire is on the pavement. To keep the vehicle from rocking a lot when the tire is up in the air.

Another good idea if you dont have chocks handy or want to be extra safe is is to use the parking brake, just a second precaution to prevent the truck moving while it’s jacked in the air

Thanks, I have only had to do this once but definitely don't even know where my jack and handle are at. A reminder, I need to purchase a replacement.

You probably will need wood blocks under jack on front tire because suspension drops.

I'm curious exactly where you place the jack when changing the front tires. The picture on my jack and the illustration in the manual told me to put it in a place that's too far back to actually lift the truck off the ground.
