That worked perfectly on my plaster wall. Pull the strip straight down slowly. All that was left was for me to erase the pencil marks where I had determined where the hooks would go. Thanks much!!
thanks. i heard horror stories about people removing the strips & the wall coming with it, AFTER i already put them up & now i needed to take them down...i have 4 huge canvas paintings with about 6 strips on each one! so i feel better about doing it now fingers crossed. if it doesnt work like yours did, i will be back to report another disaster.
did it worked? I had to fix 24 holes on the wall last week on my rental apartment (I used gorilla tape) so now I want to know if these will save me the trouble as my new apartment has light blue walls that will be difficult to re paint
@@internetjunky4327 well let me warn you ( i messed up on the first one & took off a strip of drywall...& i groaned a nice expletive, i can tell you! BUT i fairly easily fixed it w/ some spackling compound & extra paint i had, thankfully. heres the tip...you have to pull the tab slowly & ONLY straight downward. thats the trick. very important. i pulled the first one straight out & it just ripped off everything. so yes, it worked for me when i did it correctly. just go slow & deliberate pulling downward staying close to the wall. once you do it right, its like aahhhh! thats easy! lol. i'll also tell you sometimes the command strips wouldnt stay on this one wall i had. i cleaned it, dried it...still kept falling down. who knows why?! that one i had to use a nail hanger. let me just add this tip as i have had several moves & several holes i had to repair. tiny nail holes can be covered w/ just a finger swipe of paint. now for the paint...i razor cut a tiny piece of paint from the plaster & brought it to home depot & they matched it. i just bought a sample size of it which costs only about $3. it matched perfectly & you couldnt tell there was ever a hole or patch. you can also buy a small jar of spackle if the holes are bigger. someone told me you can now match the color with an app. but im not familiar with that. but with the command strips you wont need any of that. hope i helped you.
Hello Kayleigh what I do I do with my canvas picture if I’ve put it up wrong to put 1 at the top the other underneath and once command strips are off my wall would I have to buy more new command strip replacements
Sandra Ruiz sorry for the late reply. Yes I sometimes do depending on what wall I’ve put them on. If it was freshly painted for example then I would hold the main part
Did you pull them slowly? Also was it fresh paint? I’ve heard if it’s freshly painted walls or paint on plaster that hasn’t been sealed properly, then this can happen
yeah my apartment had been painted before I moved in but its been well over a month at least and it still pulled the paint off when I tried to hang curtains. I am going back to nails too for the living room *lol
