Vlad, i have a favorite blue top that got two small dollops of white paint on the sleeve - i didnt see the paint and dropped the shirt in the hamper. Later, when i pulled the shirt out to launder, i discovered the dried on paint spots. I was disappointed when none of the methods i tried worked to take them out. I reluctantly put it in the rag box. This afternoon i came across your video and dug my shirt out. My husband had some old B-12 Chemtool Carburetor Choke Cleaner he happily donated to me. It did an amazing job getting most of the paint out before the blue of the blouse started to fade - so i had to stop. With only faint paint spots, I will be able to wear my top again! THANK YOU for sharing your paint removal method! You are terrific!! I will not forget if anyone ever has this same problem. I hope you end 2020 with a smile and Blessed 2021 to you, Vlad! 🙂. Thank you!
Did is the perfect way. I also used the alcohol and it didn't work. I'm guessing alcohol would work if the paint is recently on the fabric. I was given a really nice pair of jeans, and it had a bloch of paint. I practiced this method and it literally worked instantly. I highly recommend it since it's acetone based, it'll take care of aclyric or gloss based paint. Awesome Vlad. Good job and thanx a mil. God bless you
I got paint off my daughter’s new sweatshirt using cool water, Fels laundry soap bar and a nylon finger nail brush. This would work with recent dried on water-base paint stains-not sure about older. It just takes persistence. No worries about faded dye this way. My husband was a mechanic and swears by brake clean for a host of different uses. It is harmless to surfaces, unlike the carburetor cleaner, and he would use it for this. It is like dry cleaner fluid and won’t harm fabric.
Thank you so very much for this amazing tip that works! I somehow got white paint on one of my favorite grey sweatshirts and I knew all about the other tips about alcohol that never worked for me but when I watched your tip I had to try it! I had a can of carburetor cleaner in the garage and I sprayed it on the paint splats and it started dissolving the paint and it’s gone! Going to wash it and I’m so happy for this wonderful tip that actually works! I wish I saw this a few months ago when I tried to get dried paint off an old pair of jeans. I used everything under the sun and nothing took out the paint! I used acetone, 91% alcohol, mineral spirits, turpentine and many more things but nothing took the paint off! Since I use the jeans for cleaning and yard work I used a sharpie marker and drew something over the paint spots! From now on I’m using carburetor cleaner on anything I get paid on thanks to you! God bless you and thank you so very much for this great dried on paint remover from clothing! You’re a lifesaver! 😉
Thanks for the tips Vlad. I recently started keeping an oversized long sleeved shirt next to my paint equipment that is easy and convenient to put on over my good shirt when doing small paint jobs.
Vlad is like me - I need to remember to change into my old paint clothes which I never do and always end up getting paint on my good clothes. I guess I haven't learned since High school to change my clothes lol> Amazing how you remember once you get paint on them.
Does work, but be sure to do this in a well ventilated space if you don't want to get into big trouble with the Mrs. I'm talking OUTSIDE. I did this in the garage and then when to rinse it out with laundry detergent in the laundry room just off the garage and the whole hose stinks for some time.
Thank you . I hate watching videos from people how dont qork in the field. Because their stuff never works. I been think of using carb cleaner or brake cleaner . But never had the balls to try. Thinking it mite eat a hole in it. Now if someone can tell me how to stop holes from popping up in work shirts that be great .
Vlad Fred Kovac because of what I saw you do here I’m sure of if. Working so quickly as you did only the outer surface loosened up and as you wiped it kept exposing areas deeper down. Nice work my friend and I’m going to soak my spot in a shallow puddle of the carb cleaner on a plate or something.
Marsella D. Fyngold Only if you aren’t in a hurry. HAA. I discovered that carb cleaner is xylene which I have and I made a pile of a few pieces of clothing that I will experiment on. I’ll share the results here hopefully in the next few days... or more. :-))
Some have to continue working a 10 hr day before we get home and the paint has already dried. A coach potatoe might have the luxury of getting to it right away.
Good idea carb cleaner is a solvent it will remove most any stain an will destroy most delicate materials instead of attacking the paint from the front attt the stain from the back and smack the paint acouple of times with a wooden spoon or it wi break up the stain I. To smaller pieces making it easier to remove attacking the paint from the back usally the back of the stain has less remove remove 5he back of anything the front will collapse an 2by scrub8bg from the back y ant damage the material front 99%of the time you remove anything from the direction it came in America we call that hill Billy dry cleaning also mineral spirts thank you
I need heeelp, I accidentally put some water based paint on my white jersey. I remove the paint immediately but there's still stains from the paint. What should I doo? Anyone?? :
