There actually is room to get an 8 mm socket on that bolt that you used needle nose pliers on. You can’t push it through from the front but you can drop it down from the top. I’ve done it a couple of times and I have some great pictures and a short video on how to do that. Not sure how to share pictures or video in the comments but I would gladly send them to you.
@@vkeshelya You can remove it and plug the hole, but I wouldn't recommend it. They have a weak case near the kick starter and have a bad habit of cracking. I've just replaced pretty much the entire right side of the engine, got it all back together and found the starter is stuffed... would have been a lot easier if I'd known while the starter was already off! (I bought the bike really cheap as it was already broken)
Can you show how you installed the shaft with the brushes in place? I'm having trouble holding the brushes in place due to the spring tension while inserting the shaft into the end piece. Thanks!
sorry i haven't got actual video of doing it but i remember it was very difficult and it took me few attempts to get it right so don't give up just keep trying, hope this helps
In case anybody else is looking for answers, I used snap ring pliers, because when you squeeze them, the tips press outward and the tips are thin. First I pushed one of the brushes into place, and used the snap ring pliers to hold that in place while I used my other hand to put the other brush in place. Doing the second brush with one hand is tricky, but I was able to do it a few times. Then, carefully move the snap ring pliers so that it can hold both brushes in place, while leaving as much room as possible for the armature to slide in. It's still a little tricky, but work slowly and be patient.
