Thanks for this. Just done mine, I was struggling with the rear sides then checked your video again to see that clip part needed removing. Good video nice and simple!
Hi Ricky. Glad you liked the video. Yes you can order the parts directly from BMW and fit yourself, that's exactly what I did. I ordered them from Sytner BMW in Harold Wood but you will be able to order them from your local BMW dealership from their parts department.
@@liverpooloflife8731 bought mine last week from Seattle Mini... was here in a week.. installed today. And a great thanks to the Mini Guy for the video!
You say that but I've got tape and it's still going strong after 2 years need to take it nice and slowly when applying and also use a heat gun or hair dryer.
I am looking at your video, because I have a damaged chrome side trim. I can’t see how anyone would think the black looks better than the chrome? Many thanks for the fitting tips
some people just like the all black look! for me personally, i have a red mini, and i think the black would go really well with the red paint of the car and to match my black bonnet stripes too! but i do think that in some cases the chrome could look better too. Its all in your own personal preference.
I am looking to make my mini all black, black trim and I might be able to get it resprayed for cheap. Great video easy to follow, but was wondering if you could link where you bought the parts, can't seem to find them anywhere on the mini / bmw website.
Wicked video I’m after just the driver side rear strip above the fuel cap. How do I get that bit. And also do they door strips not click I was listening for the click but couldn’t hear them ? Thanks
Great vid. I need to replace a vandalised trim on my r56 mini. Assume the tricky clipped on ones on the rear are similar on my model.... Someone tried to pull them off whilst parked! Where did you get the blue trim tool?
My girlfriend has a 2019 countryman s all4 in chili red. Going to have the roof rails painted in black and the rocker panels below the doors painted in black too. No silver anymore. I was told they don't make the "beltline" in black. Any idea if they do for the F60? If so do you know the part number?
Hi would this be the same for a countryman 2017? How much was the belt line replacement kit Plz? Also could you do a indicator led change Plz, love video really helpful x
Hello I live in USA and I would like to order the blackout kit for my 2018 MiNi Clubman S All4. Do you have the kit model number or were I can order it?
@@wowed1659 using the existing parts and covering with black vinyl, CK wraps channel has a full tutorial on how to dechrome using vinyl if this is something you're interested in.
Depends where you buy it, from mini well over 1k, kill all chrome you can get a dechrome kit that costs around £300 but that gives you the tape for the beltline, I bought that but never bothered with the tape and have just bought the proper beltline kit from mini for £250 in a sale!
Good informative video but this should already be standard on a car with everything already blacked out. BMW marketing obviously knows what they're doing here charging £300+ for bits of plastic.
Wow. I'm sitting here looking at the $1,400 quote to fix the chrome (the rubber has deteriorated with age)... and thinking... why would I pay the shop to do this!? They want $300.00 in labor to do this.
Yeah it’s really easy. A trim pry tool really helps for the back three, but the front just pull off 👍🏻 just make sure you haven’t got any dirt/grit around when using the pry tool!
I've never understood why people pay crazy amounts of money for these mods when yes you're right the chrome looks just as good, each to their own I suppose
