@@voices Hi Randy. You're very welcome. I'm learning how to use Audacity. But I don't know how to download the Isotope-Mouth De-Clicker Plug-in. Can you please explain how to download this Plug in?
@BadDriversOfNapa
@BadDriversOfNapa Год назад
Yes indeed! Voice over technique can reduce unwanted mouth noises, so you're not having to edit out as much in post. It's tricky and takes practice, but I find it works. With practice, you can consciously reduce mouth movements that create those noises. It's important to get rid of saliva buildup as well and remember to swallow between lines, if you're going to be trimming the dead areas between blocks of speech.

Hi Randy!, Thanks for all the tips that you give us. I have a doubt. To edit my audios what would be do first? Should I apply the NS1 first, later the RX8 and then EQ and Compressor? Thanks for your help.
@voices
@voices 2 года назад
If you need to apply noise reduction, it's best early in the chain. I would recommend RX8, noise reduction, EQ, compression in that order. You can also try EQ after compression, but I usually like it before to get rid of any unnecessary low end before hitting the compressor. This keeps your compressor from responding to really low-end information that isn't intended. We're putting out a video on noise reduction tomorrow! Hope this helps! -Randy

Working for professional studios you really do not have to worry about your mouth noices much, because the studio has all the expensive gear to remove them in the postproduction. Of couurse, only in case your mouth noises are not excessive - then better find a new job or a speech therapist. 😂

Hi Randy! Great vid. I just came across it a year later. Better late than never! At the 1:39 mark, you break down how to identify the high frequencies of the mouth clicks & then show how to get rid of them. Well, do you guys give lessons / do coaching sessions? While using my iZotope RX9 Spectrogram, I just cannot identify & isolate the clicks in my sound waves. Hopefully you'll be able to help me. Thanks in advance! Cordially, Pete

Hi Pete, For learning how to identify mouth noises specifically, this is something that will take time. Practice makes perfect! If you are trying to remove mouth noises that occur during a line it is best to stick to the de-click modules RX offers, just be sure to listen back to your audio to make sure it sounds good. For coaching, we do not offer direct 1-1 coaching, but we have plenty of resources like our Coaches Series Webinars, Mission Audition and Voice Over Experts podcasts, where technical aspect of audio production and voice over are discussed. You can find them here: www.voices.com/podcasts/ Hope this helps. - Geoff

I have an audio recording with lots of "mouth clicks" that I want to remove. (Hour long, too much to do manually.). The "Mouth de-click" filter sounds exactly what I need, but I am unsure which version of "RX" to get. Would "RX Standard Edition" do the job, or do I need to get the more costly "Pro" version?

Completely misses the actual two main ways to minimize mouth noise, which is to speak off axis (while still directly on axis to the mic's polar pattern) and to employ a noise gate or dynamics processing (expander). Weird.
