I wish you were showing this close up. However, following along it forced me to look at all of the parts on the shower head and hose, thereby making it possible to push the flow restrictor down inside the shower hose. Once that was done I was able to screw the new shower head on! I wish I could get it out, but not possible. Thanks!
Thank you I bought a Kohler at Costco and it takes forever to get the shampoo out of my semi long hair. It's frustrating! I hope it works removing the flow restrictor
Many thanks, sir. My Briout Handheld Shower Head (only $14.59 on Amazon!) apparently did not come with an installed water restrictor. (Made in China...lol)
Shower holder flow restricted broke. I was going to replace it but do I need to do that since the shower head presumably have one as well? My shower head looks a lot like the one you show.
Exactly….if it takes 3 times longer to get the shampoo out of your hair, use MORE water, not less. Somebody didn’t think this through. But, that’s par for any Government today.
This video was taken from too far away, I could barely see the screw you held up in your hand nor have any idea where it should be placed for maximum removal effect. It would have been better to have seen what you did and how you did it from a foot or two away.
It varies on the model. Some shower heads don't have flow restrictor. The flow restrictor on our Handheld Shower Head is in the shower holder bracket. Most fixed shower heads like the one on the video have flow restrictor located in the female thread of the head.
My wonderful commie state aka nanny state mandates the use of flow restrictors. I used to have a really good one back in 2000 (yes its bee that long since I was in the market for a new shower head) so I asked a sales lady at Home Depot about power shower heads and she said good luck in finding them in California. I have great water pressure and the shower head that the apartment complex has installed doesn't restrict the flow. I like to feel the water and not the trickle these flow restrictors produce. I have 2 in 1 Glacier Bay shower head. Good thing to know where the restrictor is located in the handheld shower head. But to be safe, I'll check all 3 connectors. Thanks!
@@theshowerheadstore Thank you. I'm no plumber or anything, but is it generally possible to modify something in the house to increase water pressure to certain areas such as the bathrooms?
@@v4d3r27 You want your house water pressure between 40 and 60 PSI. If it's lower than that, you'll have weaker pressure in the house. You can increase your water pressure valve at the point where it comes in the house on the water pressure valve. I'd recommend checking out this video and consulting a plumber: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Xlwbzz9-azk.html Type a message
Silly question for u maybe but .. I had taken my flow restrictor out but found there was just a bit too much pressure. Anyway .. does it matter what side of the restrictor goes back in first? I'm not sure what side is down? Thank you!
Hi Brian, Typically there is a wider flat side and a more beveled side. You want the beveled side facing in towards the holder or shower head connection, wherever the restrictor was extracted from. ~ The Shower Head Store
@@theshowerheadstore Hi, sry I just want to be certain. I'm kinda new to this plumber stuff. In my case, I'm replacing an old shower head with a new one. I had them take out the restrictor so I didn't see how it sat in the shower head. Let me put it this way if I can .. when the restrictor is inside the shower head, will the beveled side be facing the wall or facing the other way? Ty
@@theshowerheadstore Hi man thx for your help but in this attached video it looks like the beveled side is facing up and would therefore be facing the wall?? I'm so confused. lol ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vE87Vq-Xefc.html
It wouldn’t take much effort to make a professional looking video. 1. Choose a better background. 2. Close-up shots of the work you’re doing should be 90% of the video. 3. I’m in work on your person rather than Cam audio. Just some suggestions.
