I jave the same gun,in different color,and i just changed mine with no demage...u should move the pin easily without demage and than if u put something between the tools and the gun is not gonna get demage

Same gun i just removed my i heated a blade on fire and melted the plastic around the pin . After i got the pin out i left my gun on boiled waters for 10 min it was easy
