My dealership put in a new head unit and didn't get the trim piece around this installed correctly as there was a gap on top with holes where this piece was to snap into the dash. Following your video I was able to remove all trim pieces and get these properly installed. Thanks!
Got to find the harness in driver side b piller. Then tap in. Not sure if there is an internal Amp, but in any case, you always want to get in before the internal stock Amp so it doesn't control the signal to the Amp for subs.
@@saint7986 It's gonna be a bitch but it can be done. You'll need adapters for steering wheel buttons, antenna adapters if you want the radio, and a wiring harness. All can be bought at Best Buy.
@@saint7986Not 100% sure, as im not too good with car audio. But you may be able to do it that way. The way i described is for a new head unit, not stock. The only reason i know is because im in the middle of that process. You can spend time looking for forums for this car and others similar to help with your specific situation. But your best option might be trying to find a sound system store near you or an electronics store such as Best Buy (and others) and ask. If theyre somewhat decent at their job they should know what youre trying to do and steer you in the right direction.
If you havent found anything yet, heres what I found on my own. Start on the back of the console. From the back seats, there is a panel that comes off the back. There are 6 phillips head screws. 4 in a line on the bottom of the hinge, and 2 on the underside top of the hinge. After that, the console lid will come off. Take the felt pad from inside the console out There is a dificult L shaped clip. It goes from the bottom of the console to slightly up the front wall. I broke mine when doing it. You need to pop the long side on the bottom up first. Then attempt to pull out from there. This opens up a small space where you can see under the console. Not sure where to go from there. If you follow what trim pieces are connected to eachother, you should be able to figure something out from there. Dont be surprised if you have to remove trim thats in front of the console as well as the container housing the 2 12 volt car charge ports. It all looks hooked together and connected in some way or the other. Since im unsure of the full process for the center console, I'll tell you how to do part of the front trim. Popping off the shift lock cover helps in these next steps. Once its off, you can push down on the button with your tool of choice and move the shifter in the position you need it to be in. DO NOT FORGET to engage emergency brake, when shifting out of Park For the 12v container area, start from beind the gear shifter, at the bottom where the shift boot meets the trim, and use pry a tool between the boot and the trim. It pops up with some force and from there you can unclip the other clips around the boot. Once the boot is unclipped, unclip the trim around the shifter. This trim is also conected to the 12v container. After its free, there are 2 plugs on the back of the container, and you can get it out. Taking the front seats out might help with the trim for the foot area in the middle of the car. There is a screw/clip towards the front by the gas pedal, and one on the passenger side. ---------------------------- This is as far as I have gotten, with no knowledge of the process on paper, or in a shop. ---------------------------- Once removed you can go ahead and start unclipping trim pieces as needed. A lot of this is just stopping and taking a second to look and determine where things are clipped and where you need to pull. Hope I was able to help you start your work.
