I've never done any work on a Cam Am and I was pretty confident this is exactly how it was gonna go. I like the variety of stuff you're working on. That's kinda a nice thing.
Will this work on a 2014 maverick? Wasn’t sure if the clutch setup is the same. My clutch tool is striped somehow at the tip and it will not thread. I have a new super atv belt I need to put on and don’t have time to order a new tool.
@@Grambo304 The process is a little different because of how the secondary is build on the new machines. In the video the palm of my hands are pushing on the cam/helix and your machine will not have that. For yours you can work the belt on the top of the clutch like I did in the video and then use your hands to press on the inner sheave from between the sheaves while continuing to pull down on the belt. This will open the clutch. Continue to work it like that and it should roll off just like in the video. Putting the belt back on just like in the video but with less pushing in on the clutch and more rotating of the clutch and twisting of the belt. One or two cogs at a time. Hope that helps you.
@@kpoffroadcustomz I thought my setup looked a bit different than your machine. I’m actually not sure what you mean by inner sheave but I actually got the old belt off by carefully removing the primary but I couldn’t get the belt back on that way. Tomorrow I’ll see if there is any give and it goes on. Thank you for the response
@@Grambo304 each clutch has two sheaves or pulleys as some call them. They are the silver round parts the belt rides on. One is fixed and the other moves in and out with rpms to raise and lower the belt. The inner sheave on the secondary moves out towards the passenger side to allow the belt to slide down between the sheaves. Doing this allows the belt to removed and reinstalled . I’d reinstall the primary clutch and work the belt around the secondary as I described. You can use a metric bolt in place of the clutch tool. Get one with the correct size and thread pitch and about 70mm long. That’s what I’ve used in the past instead of buying the CanAm tool.
