Good attempt, but as another viewer commented on, make sure you've got the proper tools. Absolutely don't attempt this method if you simply want to separate and reuse the ball joint. Hammering and using that type of ball joint separator will damage the ball joint and threads, and you will likely need a new ball joint. That's the wrong type of ball joint separator for this job. You should really use the puller type with the screw facing the ground. It won't damage the ball joint or the threads. And don't use a hammer. The upper transverse arm is under constant upwards pressure, whilst the steering knuckle is under constant downwards pressure, so you need to balance at least one of these forces to stand a chance of saving the upper ball joint. You can do this by jamming a piece of wood above the upper transverse arm, or better yet, placing a jack under the hub to take the strain. Only then will the threads of the upper ball joint not catch on the steering knuckle. Alternatively, if you undo the 3 bolts connecting the upper transverse arm to the ball joint first and pull the ball joint free, then you can remove the ball joint under much less pressure, resulting in less damage to components.
I wonder if it would have been easier to unbolt the ball joint support from the upper control arm before removing it from the knuckle with the separator.

On the cls model I have doesn't require anything while putting them on the lift. But some cars do have a button in the truck always check for they. Or call your local dealership for your vehicle
Yes! Is part of it. But the actual one the is upper control. Same one on the video. I recommend replacing the whole thing. And sometimes is loosen and need re tightening.
Hello Andrew, Well to be honest I have never done that. But from my experience what I seen. 1. You will need to get the fenders roll by someone that knows how to do this kind of job. You can buy the roller on amazon or ebay but it takes times and a professional to roll them good. And that would make more room. 2. Need to go to a rims shop where they can actually tell you if a 26' wheels will fit. 3. Also make sure the tires you get won't rub on the inside. 4. If you do get them installed. You won't be able to drive up to 60 or 80 mph. Even with 20' the ride feels heavy more gas money will be spend and less gas mileage on it. I wish you best of luck. Many blessings 🙏
