hello thanks for yo videos ..i have quetion i have a 2012 jetta that car need airbags and seat belts but i have a 2015 jetta the airbags and the module are the same
If the airbags look same, fit and clockspring plugs connect properly then the airbag will work. Airbag module is different because part number is different. Also, the VIN that is stored in the module will be different. It is best to have your original airbag control module reset. Send your original module to MyAirbags for reset. You should also send your seat belts along with the airbag control module and save hundreds of dollars! Visit www.myairbags.com or call 1-855-770-4055
I wish you would have showed how to remove the two yellow plugs, and the star shaped bold at the bottom of the pre-tensioner. What size socket fits this star shapped bolt?
We apologize we weren't very specific on the pre-tensioner. If you do find out what size it was, please post here for other viewers. Thank you for bringing this issue up.
Yes it should be very similar and will give you a general idea on how to locate and remove it. We have an airbag module location lookup on our website for almost any vehicle. Here is the direct link for the airbag module lookup: www.myairbags.com/srs-airbag-control-module-location-lookup/
Hi guys I'm in South Africa.... and my polo has the airbag light on..... how do I reset it or who would you recommend i go to? If you have any affiliates in SOUTH AFRICA.... please help
The airbag control module needs to be reset after the vehicle was in an accident. Also check the seat belts as they could be bad as well. MyAirbags does reset airbag control module and rebuilds seat belts. Checkout myairbags.com
Hello, I have a jetta mk6 2013 2.5 style active, yesterday the water was put into the car at the level of the arm rest, due to flooding, we located the air bag module we took water and applied dw-40 and ran the Vcs program but the message that does not recognize the air bag module, there is another solution ??
Hi Estuardo, In your case, we would recommend to replace the airbag module because it has been flooded. You will need the part number from the original module to search for exact, correct replacement. We do have many in stock. Go to our inventory search page and search the PN / Part number: www.myairbags.com/product-category/parts-in-stock-ready-to-ship/airbag-control-modules-ready-to-ship/
the jetta has a design flaw in which the module is sitting right under the aircon piping which when clogged will leak water onto the module thus frying it.
Have you checked the seat belts to make sure they are working good? If the seat belts are not working properly, then they should be replaced or rebuilt by myairbags.com. Also scan for DTC codes using a diagnostic scan tool to see why the light is on. It could also be a bad airbag control module. If it is bad then myairbags.com can also reset the crash data/crash codes. If you scan and pull the DTC codes and post it here, we can help.
crobertsmedrep, Thank you for your question! Personally I have never seen the power steering become disabled due to an absent srs module, but that could very easily be the case. I have seen in some other makes and models, where the ignition becomes disabled without the srs / airbag module. If you do find a more definitive answer, would you mind posting back and letting our community know of your findings?
Hey Eli ..I was recently in car accident. My seat and curtain airbags were deployed and all the seat belts were locked . I've since replaced all the airbags and the seat belts. Will I need to reset the airbag module or change the crash sensors? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Yes, the airbag control module needs to be reset, which can be done at myairbags.com. Crash sensors are usually good and don't need to be replaced unless they are physically damaged.
@Mohammed Almahsiri, great question! If the module was water damaged, we recommend a complete replacement. Look at the module inside your car and you will see a part number right on top. Once you have that part number you can purchase a replacement. We actually do have a large inventory of modules in stock. You can check to see if your part number is in stock here: www.myairbags.com/product-category/parts-in-stock-ready-to-ship/airbag-control-modules-ready-to-ship/
My 2016 Jetta was flooded, now getting Airbag Module codes 01321, and about 6 other "airbag - implausible signal" codes. My issue is the airbag light doesn't come on at all (during self-check). Is a replacement or reprogramming needed for this? Thank you!
Replacement is recommended for the flodded module. Check the part number of your original module, then type in part number at myairbags.com for replacement unit.
Hello, good night, my car turns on the air bag light. Put scanner and gave me the code B101D15 and say seat belt switch passenger side short circuit/ short circuit to positive Same B101D11 But negative And already remplacé the swich seat belt My car had an accident but did not rupture the airbags You think that by resetting the module this would turn off thanks
Yes airbag control module needs to be reset first. Because your module has crash data and locked the module. Also, seat belts do need to be replaced, the codes you are getting. But as I understood you saying is that you already replaced seat belts. We do rebuild seat belts a and reset airbag control modules. For Airbag Control Module Reset: www.myairbags.com/product/airbag-module-reset-3/ For Seat Belt Pretensioner Repair: www.myairbags.com/product/seat-belt-repair-1-stage/
Hi, I am from Mexico, the car audio instalar pass a cable in the glovebox but he disconnect the airbag cable in the glove box and after that the indicator in my jett turns ligth on, I have a jetta live 2016, do i need to reset it? or this will be normal by it self?? thank you, I bougth this car 0 kilometers brand new I never had this problem, thanks
Check if connectors plugs are melted. If they are melted then you will need to change the clockspring or just the melted connectors. Usually the clockspring will be okay.
so how do I reset my module? my vehicle wasn't in an accident but the airbag light just came on tonight and stays on ( 2001 jetta vr6 2.8 ) .... I just replaced the front passenger side window regulator but i don't think this year has side air bags so im not sure if replacing the window regulator interfered with the module
We reset crash data and crash codes after vehicle was in an accident. In your example it is simpler, since the vehicle was not in an accident. If the airbag light just came on one day, then something tripped it. Most of the time it woukd be a wire or a plug got loose under passenger seat. I would check there first. If all looks good, then get the system scanned with a diagnostic scan tool that would read codes and then you will know the problem, like a bad impact sensor, bad airbag, bad seat belt. Then those parts may need to be replaced or just the connector plug got loose. We also do rebuild seat belts saving you hundreds of dollars in an event that your seat belt is bad.
Replacing window regulator should not trigger air bag light. The side airbag should be in the seat. However, inside the door, there could be an impact sensor. If it is there then maybe you did not reconnect the plug connector?
If your vehicle was in an accident then it will have crash codes and crash history that needs to be reset for the airbag control module to be used again.
The vehicle will still run and drive without the airbag control module. But of course, you will be at risk and airbags will not deploy in an even of an accident.
Hello !! I have a 2012 jetta gli and air bag light came on months ago ! I just checked and says airbag module faulty , need to reset or neee another module ??
Hi.. I have problems with my airbag module on Golf Mk7 cannot coding after I replace with new one due to my aircon cooling coil leak hit my old airbag module.. can u advise how to fix it... thanks
Shukri, If you look at the original module and the replacement module, make sure the part numbers are exactly the same. Then you would have to code the replacement module to the car, using a VW/AUDI scanner / scan tool.
