I had a similar situation with 5 x .25 calibre pellets stuck up the barrel, it was a simple matter to resolve. I removed the barrel & was able to see the stuck pellets from the breech end, taking EXTREME care to keep the drill bit SQUARE TO AVOID DAMAGE TO THE BRASS BREECH FACE, i used a 1mm hss drill bit to make the initial hole into the centre base of the first stuck pellet, this allowed me to then replace the 1mm bit with a 2mm bit to enlarge again (all the time making sure that the bit was held straight) then onto a 3mm bit that finally allowed the pellet to be removed, the others simply fell out. Good luck, patience IS THE KEY to avoid damage.
I have gotten maybe 3 max 4 pellets jammed. You should easily be able to tell your pellets are not flying and the cocking handle gets harder to cycle. That being said. If you have been shooting any length of time you should have a barrel cleaner. mine is made by Hoppe's sold at Big 5 for $14.99 it has a 3 piece handle with a copper end for your swabs, it make a perfect rod for un-lodging stuck pellets. Go gentle and slow big tapping, the pellets will slowly start to fall out as they are pushed backwards. Make sure your rifle is on safe and carefully back out the barrel. This ensures that even if the hammer spring was to engage it will not hit anything. The one I bought was for .22 cal and works perfect in my .25 cal barrel's and .30 cal barrels. This will make sure you are not damaging the FX barrel.
Thanks for the feedback Doc! The cocking lever effort on an FX Impact will not change regardless of nmbr of pellets stuck. My friend was shooting 30 yards into a trap that had numerous impact points. Thus hard to decipher if he was in target or not as he was zeroing a new scope. There was no way shakin the barrel would dislodge the pellets.
Do NOT use steel! Get brass. Steel can scratch ur barrel. Also, u wont be able to solder as easy onto steel. u want smalller diameter rod than your barrel. Example get 5mm of barrel is 6.35mm.
It's stupid, the gun let's you double load, and it's always a nightmare, because most of the time you cant tell that's it's stuck till the gun stops shooting. I got a maverick, love the accuracy, but I hate the design. Just terrible in my option, would not recommend one to anyone ever that's how bad my experience has been
Its a brass rod. U can buy the rod from home depot or menards or any decent hardware store. Buy brass screw to solder onto the rod. use plumbing solder and butane torch. U may need to file down the screw head when done so it will fit inside ur barrel.
Next time, hopefully not, if you can get som drops of mercury, find it in thermometers, is amazing one pellet size can melt 5 o 6, WARNING keep it away from aluminium, but absolutely safe in steel
It's so dumb that these guns let you double load, this fx maverick has been giving me issues left and right, bout get rid of this dam thing. It's accurate af when it works, but when it doesn't, I have to spend a whole day fixing it, going though schematics, videos, and it's all just getting so annoying. I just want to shoot some dam squirrels lol, when I using a break barrel more, I've got a problem.
