Does tint belong on a 28 year old BMW? Absolutely not, Maybe when these cars were current age and being daily driven by families, but not anymore. In this video I spend some time removing all of the tint from the rear windows, I used steam to loosen the adhesive followed by a razor blade and a combo of Optimum No Rinse and Shiny Supply Bug Remover to get all of the adhesive out of there. A simply task but I believe it completely changed the look of the car and I am obsessed haha. Following that I did do a small clean of the interior to get it back to where It was prior to its body shop adventure. I had a lot of fun making this and I hope you guys enjoy. Much love.

Work from left to right on the rear window. Those heater lines are weak as hell and you don’t wanna remove them, so if it’s posible do it longitudinally. Or at least if you are not gonna do it, be gentle as our protagonist. Beautiful work mate, so relaxing.

Another great experience! Beautifully done. Indeed, I wouldn't have trusted the body shop to detail my interior either, but on another note, I kinda cringed seeing the razor blade going over the top of the defroster lines. I know you are super careful, but doesn't that damage them?
@ChromaticGarage

Thanks man! But nah it doesn’t effect effect them if you’re hitting the right angle and with minimal pressure. It’s when you go parallel the lines you start removing the lines

Nice. Man I love that car. With patients can it really be that ez to remove the tint? I have 2 cars to do. One is only the back glass because it bubbled from from baking in the sun last summer. The E30 is just super old and it too the back glass has failed and looks like crap. I am scared of the e30 rear window Defroster Lines.
@ChromaticGarage

You typically never want to use a razor blade on the rear glass with a defroster as it will cut the defroster. The best way to go about it is with very fine steel wool.

It’s not safe but because of the ability to lift the hatch in the wagon you’re able to control your pressure. None of the lines were harmed. I’d recommend bug remover or brake cleaner if your worried. Or church actually

I was actually surprised at how easily the film came off. Steamers are worth their weight in gold. Nevertheless, the residue left behind seemed fiddly to remove. Here is South Florida, tinting is essential to preserve the interior of the car, as the UV is intense. Unfortunately, it is prohibited by law to tint the windshield. Also, cops will stop you if they see your windows seem to be too dark. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year brother.
