In this video we show how to remove the active grille shutters from a RAM 1500 truck. By removing these shutters you can lower the operating temperature of your vehicle and also make room for an intercooler.
The active grille shutters are designed for fuel efficiency to get the vehicle up to operating temperature sooner. They also improve aerodynamics by closing the shutters while the vehicle is in motion so that air passes over top the vehicle instead of causing resistance by going into the under hood compartment.
Often times performance vehicle will opt to remove the active grille shutters in an effort to increase cooling and lower engine operating temperatures.
