You can also use newspaper! put the hair in a sealed contained with news paper and leave it for a few days. There's something in the ink in newspaper that absorbs smells amazingly. It's an old-school technique for getting funky smells out of shoes, pickle jars and all the things.
THIS WORKS! I washed and conditioned my bundles with my normal shampoo and conditioner and they still stank! I found this video and I used the Dr. Bronners hemp almond Castile soap, it was the only scent I had on hand. After the first wash I noticed a huge difference. THANK YOU!
Yass!!!! The hemp almond is my favorite one. With the peppermint one I just noticed it took the smell out completely. I’m assuming because of the strong peppermint smell. I’m so glad you tried it! 🥰❤️

This really works! I recently had a wig made that stunk so bad when I picked it up. Followed this method and bought the unscented baby castille soap on accident instead of peppermint and just added a few drops of tea tree oil instead then followed the other steps and my wig smells a thousand times better even after styling with heat.
I just used it and I can confirm that it gets the smell out. Omg this stuff is strong. My whole house smelled like peppermint but it did its job. Not gonna lie, it's very drying to the hair. You gotta GOTTA moisturize it with good conditioner or you will ruin the hair.
Thank you 🎉this worked! I got a sewin and was smelling like frito lay corn chips everywhere I went. So embarrassing. I had to use bronner lavender hemp all in one and the peppermint sugar soap. The store I went to ran out of the peppermint all in one. Still worked!!!
THIS METHOD WORKS!!! I wanted to use lavender bc I don’t love peppermint but was scared to deviate from the recommendation lol BUT the silicone mix covers the peppermint smell. I’m also heavy handed w conditioner. Once lathered w conditioner, I put in ziplock bag and some water and microwaved it and let it sit in hot water for like 20 mins. The hair SMELLS & FEELS AMAZING!!!

My wig was soaking in ACV right when I saw this clip. I immediately remembered I have a yellow bottle of castle soap. As soon as I put the wig into the bucket of soapy water, the stench from the wig and ACV started vanish! I’m going to soak it overnight. Thanks for this tip!

Hi, I’m confirming that this absolutely works. Dr. Bronner’s played no games. I thoroughly washed the bundles twice and let them soak overnight with the Dr. Bronner’s. I changed the water and added more soap before bed. I rinsed it the next afternoon and applied deep conditioner. I didn’t use silicone mix but I had Mielle Babassu Mint deep conditioner. I lathered it on every strand and weft. Placed it in a big ziploc bag and poured hot boiling water on it. I let it sit in the plastic basin from the Dollar Store for 90 minutes. I rinsed the hair thoroughly with cool water. The hair air dried and I brushed it before I laid it out to dry. The smell is completely gone. Thank you thank you 😊.
@@thinkboutdat no, it didn’t come back. But, I still wash it the same way when I take them out. I feel better knowing there is no chance of the hair ever smelling like that again. I work out daily and sweat in my head mostly, no smell.
We sell Vietnamese hair which does not get chemical processed with silicone. Silicone causes the hair to smell. Our hair does not smell and is sourced from Vietnam.

@@Goldgoodnesscan I haven't washed it again yet but I did get rained on when wearing it and I did spray water on it before brushing it and no smell came back which was not the case before I used the Dr. Bronners peppermint. It also doesn't smell like peppermint because I used my normal shampoo after doing the treatment. The hair is also still very silky but perhaps that is the wig I bought. You can absolutely trust my feedback because I suffer from MCS "Multiple Chemical Sensitivity" which means if the chemical was still in the wig I'd still be reacting to it and would be able to smell it. I have the nose of a black bear. Nothing gets passed me. I smell EVERYTHING- it's awful. My daughter had to do the bronners peppermint treatment Because peppermint triggers my asthma. I was so happy the peppermint also washes out. So I'm very pleased that I can't wear my wig. No more difficulty breathing, itching,sneezing and neurological symptoms.

great way and it really works, most remy hair or virgin hair from China has smells, very hard to find top quality raw hair from chinese vendors, i currently use KBL virgin hair and Joice Hair raw hair, they both are very nice.

Yooo this actually works 😂 I did white vinegar first for half a day and the smell was still there. I used the lavender dr bronners over night and it did its big one.

I can soak the hair overnight bc its already installed. I tried all of this and went back to the salon for a wash and thought the smell was gone. Nope. I washed it again and the smell just won't go. It's one with the hair.

Hey. Yea it’ll strip the chemical smell completely. And then once you add the silicone conditioner it’ll bring back the moisture and softness. Plus it smells amazing

Hi Love. I have a question. Great videos btw you are so informative. So I have a dilemma. I have a really good vendor / vendors but they do not accept PayPal.😞they are legit but I am scared. What other forms of payments would you say is actually safe ? I’ve always heard transfer wise and money gram is a big no and that western union should be a never unless you trust your vendor ALOT.
They sell great hair and finding vendors is difficult and I’ve found 3 so far. But the 2 of 3 don’t accept PayPal. I don’t want to delay starting my wig business this year.😞
I have all the products but i want to dye my bundles. I was told don’t put conditioner in the hair b4 dying, should I just wash the hair with the peppermint soap then put conditioner in after I dye the bundles?
It’s because the donor oil their hair and natural sebum.. I use Malibu hard water treatment to clarify all my raw bundles!!! Then follow up with deep conditioning!!
Hi Steph! I am starting my own hair business i have a really good vendor that has a horrible smell, but the hair is the Bomb! I am just worried it will throw off my customers. Do you wash your bundles before selling? It just put instructions on how to care for the hair in the package?
Hey love 💕 so sorry for the late response. Yea that’s definitely a tough one. Definitely providing a hair care card with instructions on how to wash the bundles helps a lot. Because if the hair is Bomb the customers won’t mind buying the hair even tho it has that order, which is expected with most virgin hair bundles because of the chemicals but if you’re transparent and provide them the instructions on what to do then it makes it so much better for a customer to trust you and come back for more hair. All they need is the secret to get rid of the smell and you golden. 🥰🤗

I just purchased hair from -She's Happy Hair and the smell is egregious. The smell of Corn chip and chemicals has my entire house smelling horrible. Their hair is not cheap at all, I'm so disappointed.
I don't understand why the hair smells like that! I ordered hair from Amazon and it smelled like dead fish to! This is the 4th time! I keep returning them because I can't put that on my head hell no! @@stephg.8202 sis I ordered from Ideal 24” loose wave. The hair was a little tangled and almost feel plastic. Mandy said the tangle was due to days in transit and drying. Do you have any tips for dry bundles. I ordered hair from JP and KbL and no issues. KBL hair is soft no tangles however had Cheetos smell still after I washed. JP hair is bomb af, no smell, soft. I narrowed my vender to JP.
Ooouuu I haven’t tried it but I would think so. It’s a powerful soap gets rid of most Odor’s. It Just May dry the synthetic hair so you may need to provide a good amount of deep conditioner to moisturize it.
If I wore a baseball baseball cap for over a week we all would think something is wrong with me . That is how many men feel about the way some of you will wear weave and wigs for weeks at a time.

I've been black my whole life and have yet to find the black women that you speak. FYI the smell comes with the hair when it is received. She advises to wash with this soap before wearing them. Why come here in OUR space and be negative? There are many spaces available throughout the interwebs where you can find other black men who will join and support you in your disdain for and mockery of black women; this is not the place.
