Super late here. Thanks for the vids. Have a 5.2L jeep. Seeing guys like yourself crack into these motors makes guys like me feel better tackling the little things.
Great work man! I love your content and channel. I plan on doing this soon but maybe with the Hughes FI airgap kit since the M1s are hard to find, and I'd seriously pay for the raw footage of the removal process and install. That would save me some coin and I'd learn a lot and know that it's done right. I've rebuilt the entire suspension, even drilled out the rivets on new control arms to replace with moog so i wouldn't have to deal with that once it was installed. Replaced the rack and pump. Up next is finding 2003 spindles and upgrading brakes to 2 piston, and replacing the entire brake system, front to back. I'm trying to make my almost 20 year old R/T reliable before i move to performance... Only 84k miles. I am a noob but a perfectionist like yourself and i'm trying to learn and do everything right the first time. Thanks for all the work your doing and the content you're providing, It's really helped me a lot especially because all the content out there on these trucks is basically garbage
Thanks jerry I appreciate it! I do my best to bring honest no bs content! Everything I showed in this vid was pretty much how it went. It wasn’t too bad! Raw footage would have been too long and boring lol
You do bring the best no bs content, and it shows. I totally understand that a long raw footage video would be boring to most people and wouldn't bring in the most views. I have a 2000 Dakota r/t single cab, very similar to yours, but I really enjoy seeing everything you're doing, each step, and your explanations, and I benefit tremendously from your videos because I plan to go down a similar path with my truck. I don't have anyone showing me the ropes, everything I’ve learned and done on my truck is just from research, and I've learned much more from your videos than just reading or looking at pictures or garbage walk throughs. I know what you're doing is a lot of work and takes a lot of time but I appreciate it and hope your channel continues to grow.
Thanks bro.. I found this very informative an helpful.. as I will be changing my intake between now An spring along with my cam lifters an timing chain an have not done one on this style of engine always been older carburetor less electrical engines .. I really appreciate the in depth details you share as you do .. always nice to have a heads up on a job before tackling that’s why I follow ur channel .. very informative an in depth detail an you don’t talk or go so fast a guy can’t follow .. great video thanks again bro .. your doing a great job on the Dakota .. wish I lived close I’d hire ya to do mine cause my health condition will cause me to take a lot longer as I can only do a little bit at a time !! An I don’t let jus anybody work on my truck so that’s a huge compliment on how I think your work is on vehicles 👍👍👍👍 A1 bro
Thanks for the support Darren I appreciate it! Hopefully the vids make people more comfortable tackling it themselves watching it being done! I’m glad you’ve been wrenching too at the same time! 🤟💪
Nice informative video brother... I've had several dodge trucks with same motor and had to change the plenum gaskets on both. The factory replacement intake bolts are crap!! Lol. They break before they reach torque specs. I've replaced them all with a higher grade bolts which worked out much better when torqued to spec. Good luck
i did this to my 97 1500 but i used same intake mani. modded the runners added the hughs thick cover plenum and modded the stock TB and will be going with 4 hole injectors soon
Nice work bro. That M1 is a good looking manifold, kinda reminds me of the old Edelbrock Tarantula, I'm an old hot rodder lol! Really enjoying this build and keep up the good work and yes I'm a subscriber and of course I hit the like button!
Take the fuse for the fuel pump out then start it tell it dies. No more fuel pressure 👍. And for the fuel line connection, I used to just take a thin hose clamp and cut it to size, bend into a ( C) and push that in there and it will pop off. I end up reusing it on a couple other projects lol. To late now, but is a suggestion for next time.
That’s a good idea too! I actually got super lucky and started laughing cause if you look at the fuel pump from the procharger kit when I picked it up to show you guys someone’s forgot removal tool on the old line so I got the tool I needed now 😂
First of all love your channel.I have a dodge darango 2000 ,I was cleaning the throttle body and dropped a small bolt in it.I heard it hit the pan do you think it fell any farther than the pan.
@@BoostedMotorsports wasn’t bad at all. I had a friend helping. You definitely put in a lot of work for this video. Can’t wait to see you drop the hell cat in yours.
I need that Intake Plenum Upgrade on my 5.2 liter Magnum V8. Will it fit in a Dodge Ram B250 van Doghouse? Does it come with the new aluminum Plenum Pan?
Sure will! It’s just going to compliment everything nicely and will channel the air into the cylinders rather than just being lost into that big barrel of a keg stock manifold
Where did you get your valve covers? The only ones I've seen have the PVC and/or filler cap on the wrong end. You end up having the Mopar Logo upside down on one cover!!!
It’s really not too bad! All the injectors are labeled from the factory and the map, tps, and iat are all different plugs. It’s all just a big puzzle. Plus keeping the bolts with certain brackets or the alternator or ac makes it easy later. Definitely don’t just make a pile of bolts or that would suck 😂
Good vid...the only issue I see is your gonna lose huge amounts of low end torque with that intake, I think even with the supercharger your gonna need a 2000 to 3000 stall converter..
I’ll post this comment on the next video but have you happened to find a new center console? Junkyards, or PullAParts, or Dodge Durango’s that people are parting out is the cheapest and fastest way to find and replace the center console. Another way is you could just buy a new armrest but it never hurts to have a spare?
There is a couple dakotas near me. I'd have to double check them but I'm pretty sure they had the seats complete and not to bad of shape. I'm in kansas city
TheOnlyDINGUS! Durango’s and single cab Dakotas have center consoles, the Slt and quad cabs I think have the bench seat with the folding center seat. He needs a new center console from the single cab or Durango. I really want to convert my truck to that I just don’t know if I can.
