You are a champion i had visions of removing the top cappings I had it removed within 90 seconds on my own And thanks to the manufacturers for smart thinking Ram 1500
How about a 1000 likes. Worked like a charm. Bought a 2001 Tundra and have a trifold bed cover on the way. I pressure washed the liner and started thinking about whats under it / RUST etc. Just dirt, leaves, and piss ants. Thankfully it was a drop in liner.
but that's so much work.. in other videos i've seen them remove a liner by filling the bed half full of junk and adult beverage cans and then going 4 wheeling and off roading until the liner and junk finally flies out :)
THANKS for making this video. It's a one piece puzzle but I couldn't figure it out. Like you I kept pulling at the top edget to fold it in and that doesn't work.
I know anytime I have a truck with a bedliner like that I always remove it because water can always find a way underneath it and rust out the bed. If I could afford a new truck I would get a spray in bedliner instead of that kind of bedliner.
Oh wow, this is my 'learn something new everyday' lesson. Even though I more than likely will never do that, you never know when I can pass this 'how to' along to someone else. And please guys, don't think I am a know it all woman. I don't claim to know it all. But you would be surprised at how many things I have taught people about various subjects. I am just an information junkie. What can I say? 😜
+1 on that "Information Junkie" personality. You either think like that or you don't. I know it can cause problems in relationships. Eventually my new friends understand.
Thanks guys for being understanding. I must give a lot of credit for what I know to my hubby of 42 years. He taught me about construction. I drive him crazy sometimes building things. I have all my own tools, and know how to use them. I use to take care of our lawn. Never had weeds, mosquitos, fleas or fire ants. When I stopped doing it, the yard went to hell. We have yard guys that come and mow and use the weed eater. But I'm beginning to work on the care of the lawn, i.e. getting it green again, and the weeds under control, along with the pests. My next big project is removing some ugly Mexican palm trees in the front yard. But have to get rid of the yellow jackets that have built nests in them. But anyway, as I said, I love learning new things. And so far, it hasn't caused a problem with friends or family. And, if they don't like my knowledge, that's their problem. I won't bother sharing. Anyway, hope y'all have a great weekend, and thanks for your replies. 😃
Great video, thanks! I'm looking to swap out my bed liner for a different one and was wondering if I could do it without removing the canopy and after seeing this reckon I could. Albeit a little more difficult.
There will always be moisture and rub wear damage. Dirt and dust too. This will also trap moisture and promote rust. Periodic removal, cleaning and rust prevention methods will ensure a long life for both parts.
Do you happen to know how many inches you gained between the front wall to the start of the front side of the wheelwell? I have about 13” with the liner. I’m hoping to get about 15” without.
While I didn't put it back in, I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work that same way. Maybe a little more frustrating for one person to line stuff up, but yeah, should work the same! DECKED is a great product, I have two videos on it (install and review).
