Thanks for the info! Just started a new job and had to take tests for them, now i got 15 days for this you saved me lots of time and potentially brain cells that I cannot spare right now :)
This is why I don't like pursuing a lot of certifications with expiration dates because they have become nothing but a cash grab by these certificate consortiums. To give you a good example Uncle Tre I earned the CompTIA trifecta way back (my beard is grey too!!!) pre-2010 before CompTIA started issuing expiration dates. Those three certs are considered GFL (Good For Life to those who never knew this). Now they want $199 every three years? I'm glad I don't have to bother with all this renewable CE rubbish and especially glad I don't got to fork over $199 every three years. A lot of people were upset when CompTIA started that!
Brady. I feel you brother. I’m definitely not please with it myself. I have few that are GFL as well. Hopefully, with my new career track I won’t need to renew them the next time around. I paid this time because I feel my time is more valuable than waisting it trying to study and take the test from scratch again. Thx for commenting man. I appreciate it
One way or the other they gotta reach into ya pocket. Mine is expiring in a couple months and $199 is better option than having to sit in the library studying for this test again. Am payin'.
You're the best, thanks man. I need to renew my Security+ by July 2024. Gona do it soon and get it out of the way. I'm thankful there's a continuing education course. 🙏🏼
I like how you started off the vid. You mentioned the email and I was like yep... that's what I got and that's why I'm here. Thanks for the info, this is very helpful
Super!! Now everything makes sense. I passed my CASP+ yesterday, and when I checked my CE requirements for Sec+, they had the same date as when I passed my CASP+ exam. Thank you!
it cost me $189 and took me a week n a half (not cramming everyday back to back) but i just finished renewing my network+ I'll be good for the next 3 years!!!! thanks unc!
I really appreciate this info. While I like professor Messors Material, but the way he explained how to renew certifications was confusing. Yours was right to the point and thank you for that! I just subscribed as I just got my A+ recently and almost ready to take the Net+ exam soon!
Amazing video! This totally answered my question on how to renew. Great video and very easy to follow. I think I was trying to make it more difficult than it needed to be.
I really appreciate how easy and straightforward your explanation of this whole process was. The COMPTIA website was vague about what exactly this certmaster thing was. So you can just take these module exams at home on your computer? Doesn't that mean they are essentially "open book"?
This is handy, I currently operate on a schedule of taking an exam on the last year remaining for my current ones. Too bad it doesn't give you an option for CYSA or Pentest. I'm not looking forward to taking CASP next year lmao.
Yeah man, I would suggest writing a note to the company and telling them to add it. I’m sure there are quite a few people in the same boat. It could create change for hundreds of people in our community.
Does anyone know if after submitting all your CEUs, will the new expiration date will be 3 years added to the current expiration or 3 years after the you submitted your last CEU? Just want to make sure I do not lose any time if renewing resets the 3 years cycle instead of adding to the current one. Thanks.
Spoke with CompTIA customer service. If your certificate expires May 1, 2027 and you take the Certmaster CE in January 1st 2025, your new expiration date will be May 1st 2030. So it renews from the date your cert expires, NOT from the day you take it. In the video you see he took his Certmaster CE on March 1st, but the new expiration date was March 29th.
You know... leave it up to orgs like CompTIA to come up with a subscription service by requiring DoD people to pass the exam, and then pay to keep the exam.
Thanks for the upload I just got my 90 day notice kinda worried. Just wanted to verify if you don’t pass the module test do they limit the amount of times you can take it…….any feedback will help thanks in advance
Just renewed my Sec+/A+; I did see on subsequent attempts on the module task assessments, the same questions are used, but now come up randomly; that was not true 3 years ago...
Fun fact you can renew your CCNA cert for FREE! I have 26 out of the 30 Credits needed to renew my CCNA and I'm saving the last 4 credits for when my cert expires in 2023
Thanks for the informative video. I passed the Sec+/Net+/A+ in 2021. I passed the CCNA exam in September of 2022 and would like to provide this info to CompTIA, so that my CompTIA certs will be extended until 2025. Unfortunately, I have not figured out the proper way to do this. Any information that would help me use my CCNA to extend my CompTIA certs expiration until 2025 would be appreciated. Thanks!
Milan, thx you for your feedback on the video. As far as your CCNA is concerned let me tell you what I saw because I also tried to do the same thing. On the COMPTIA website there are a list of documents that they will give you credit for. With the CCNA they only accepted it if it was the CCNA Security cert. I’ll see if I can find the link and I’ll post it here
@@UncleTreCSE Thanks for the link. I have read that the CCNA is good for renewing the A+ and Net+. I'm planning to pass the Linux+ in 2023. From what I have learned, doing that would be a hassle free way to extend the expiration date of the CompTIA Trifecta.
Hi Uncle Tre. I have few questions about renewing my Comptia certifications. My network+ expires August 2023 and A+ expires Oct. 2024 one year after my Network+ 1. If i renewed my network+ cert. will that also renew my A+ as well, even my A+ still have more than one year before expiration date. 2. Can I renew my Network+ cert anytime during active 3 years, I have 6 months before expiration date can I just renew it now?
LR. greetings and salutations! Yes you can renew your net plus anytime with the 6 months that you have remaining. The A plus certification will automatically renew when you finish the net plus recertification. So they both will be renewed for another 3 years. I hope that explanation helps
You have to have the cert before you can renew it. Just because you have Sec plus, you don’t automatically get network and A plus. I hope that makes sense. Most people start with A plus. It really doesn’t matter which one you start with thought.
I would just get the A+ first then the network+ and then the security+. You should be able to do this all within 3 years. The security+ is by far the hardest imo.
So, are there five tests to take - one for each domain? And how many questions are on each test? Is it similar to the actual Network+ exam, which has 90 questions at a time?
@@millschristophe9865 that would all depend on what area of IT that you are going to pursue. What role? Network engineer, It HELPDESK, clous engineer, software engineer, security analyst etc.etc
@@millschristophe9865 security plus is a good start for building a foundation. A pen tester is like an ethical hacker that works to find vulnerabilities in a system. Companies will pay you to try to penetrate thier system and services. Look into “GIAC” certifications. They are well respected in the security industry
Good evening. Do I have to take the Comptiaa exam for the exam first and then take the CE exam in order to do the renewals or can I go straight for the CE ones??
i have a question, i have A+ and network+ , which expire in 3 months. I want to take security exam in two months. Do u think if i pass sec+ my other certs will be renewed ?
If I fail a module do I reset the test button and will it give me another test? Also, you say that you have to only get 100% on each module, but I noticed something about a final exam at the end, is this correct? I am taking the ce a plus Thanks
Question. Will this apply to Security+ 601 renewal? I was looking to do this but, the site said that this process is only applicable to 501 and earlier.
Question: I did my Sec+ in Jul 2018. I have met the CE requirements to extend my cert to Jul 2024 (6 years total). If I do this class, will it be 3 more years? Or do I need to retake the test?
