THANK YOU!! couldnt get door open with dishes inside. had to open drawer next to dishwasher and then was able to pull really hard from sides. and it OPENED!! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH..

Tony, I agree this is a simple fix, however can you offer any thoughts on how to get the door open if the latch is broken in the closed postion? ours is a GE

great video my dishwasher door operation is very light . the door almost fails to hold closed .the Dishwasher is an ORIMA and cost 300 euros in Portugal where we live.

You mention how it "SHOULD" open, grabbing it Left and Right, giving a firm pull. However, you DON'T mention what to do if the lock is LOCKED, and I Mean Fully, Latched. I could sooner and far more easily tear the countertop away from its screws before I could EVER get this door opened by "Firmly" pulling from both, upper, corners.Maybe a few more options, for those of us who are completely latch locked and a little less Beer (Celebrating) until ALL of the door lock issues are resolved??

Upon opening my dishwasher door the latch looks nothing like that. I don't understand, I ordered it exactly like you said on Part select.

thnx for this video...I have a GE Dishwasher "SpaceSafer" GSM1800JWW...i did one wash and door wont open. When I research to see y, some suggested that i redo my wash might help to reset the timer. This washer does not have child lock so is not that.Do you think it could be a timer issues?? The washer sound normal with both wash, drain and dry...I waited a few hour to open it and it was still jam lock. The latch click but wont let go. Please advice what you think and i can do since i cannot afford any service call or replacing a new one. I just want the door to open up and get my dishes out. thnx in advance!!

Dishwasher door will not open. how can i open it dishes are stuck inside. i have already tried to pull it. stuck closed.. please help.. is there anyway to open door if latch will not release to open i cant get to screws to pull dishwasher out. PLEASE HELP..

It's the beginning of the end, I replace mine twice, and those screws , screw into plastic posts , the posts chewed up and it only lasts for so long. Whatever.Good post
