How to repair a radio "No AM Reception"

Nice video. I have a mid 70's Realistic Concertmate 8 that has identical tuning band symptoms (excellent FM but no AM). I tried clean the band selector, to no avail. I'll start searching elsewhere.

I just took out my vintage Sony clock radio and heard something shaking inside. So I took it apart and it was easy with only 2 small screw removal. I saw this heavy metal long bar that had 2 thin copper wires attached to it and was careful not to break. It look like it came loose when I bought it used and shipped 12 years ago, but never checked the am radio. So I’m not sure if it was already broken before or I somehow broke it . I didn’t yet glue the bar bc I didn’t have any glue, but placed it back in its area near the top comet. Which now I don’t hear or rattling as much as before. Thanks for your video bc this alarm clock is a collectors item and everything works, but the am. I not that mechanical and would know that part you replaced or how to get one or even know which one it is to replace and was hoping o just moved something or put back wrong and just put back correctly. I hate taking electronics apart bc it’s complicated for me and I’m always afraid o going to make it worst or break it even more. Oh and it’s the Sony ICF - A10W from 1980. I also like how many Filipinos find ways to fix older items to save money vs how Americans just throw away something when it doesn’t work. My Filipino friends tell me how they used to all connect to other ppls. electricity to not pay or when their electric gets cut off and how common that is in the Philippines . Lol! The crazy thing is that most ppl. in America don’t even use AM radio and all the good stations are FM. Lol!

Hello. I had a SR 2100 boombox from a friend. Inside is like brand new. I cleaned the switches with contact spray. AM radio works fine but FM does not play any station clearly. Every FM station has static noise. It has an antenna and it’s connected to the tuner pcb. I suppose the radio signal is good because my car radio gets all the stations. I also sprayed contact spray inside the tuning capacitor however did not fix the issue. So what can be the problem of the boombox?

My radio is 12 bands radio. Now band swich is broken & always disturbing. So i want permanently delete 11 bands & just want play MW/AM band. How can i do this? I want just MW/AM
