How To Repair A Vacuum Handle - Don't just use tape! 

Thanks for mentioning that the hose cuff screws in the opposite direction! I was wondering why it wouldn't screw on. Also, one should not press too hard on the clips of the clip ring, because they might break (which happened to one of mine). Finally, if you are not able to pull the broken part of the hose out of the hose cuff (because it is glued), simply start pulling on the spiral-like material of the hose and it will progressively detach itself from the hose cuff as you pull. A really useful video! Thanks to you, I was able fix my hose in just a few minutes, reusing the original parts and not having to go to the store. All I did was to disassemble, cut off the broken part and put everything back. Wonderful!

Thanks for the great video. It saved me from buying a new Vacuum. I ordered the parts from he vacuumspot online shop and they were delivered in 3 business days. Just one note: the problem mentioned in the video about the click ring: I have the same issue, and I had to fix with a lot of force, but it did not click naturally on a Voltra vacuum cleaner (model 2006).

Electrified hoses are a bit more complex but the tip still fundamentally applies. Rainbow hoses are a bit tricky as well but same idea, you just have to take the time to remove the pieces of hose from the cuff, add adhesive and then thread it in. Oh, they call it a cuff because it resembles cuffs on various shirts, jackets and sweaters.

i have a electrolux model 337 and the original hose is loose on the machine end of it, and sometimes it comes out and due to the design it does not use a click ring and hose cuff. before i go down to my local godfreys (vacuum shop and service center for those not in Australia) to get it repaired or replaced i thought why not try RU-vid and see of what it has to offer

Good video but my Shark Navigator vacuum does not have a hose handle like this one and can't be repaired like this one shown. So my only option was to buy a new handle or tape it which I did. I live in Canada.

Alec, we have an ancient but rarely used Whirlpool FC7000XMO and the hose is hosed and needs replacing. Part number is 744191 and/or WPL-4148437 - either way it is no longer made. Please recommend a person to fix this issue...and/or where I can buy a hose to replace it (any color but black)... will ship it anywhere in the u.s. - please respond asap! Glenn

Where can I get hose caff? Is this fit any kind of hose?

I have Wertheim 5030 that has split in the same spot as the one in your video. Can I fix it the same way. Mine is the first type of handle for the 5030. Not the gas handle looking one. I do not want to have to pay $169.00 for a new one if I do not have too. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

you don't seem to be in the USA. I repaired Vacs for some 20 plus years in the USA and have NEVER seen that type of vac. hose. Therefore that's a simple repair in your country, not mine, but thanks for the video anyway.
