Be careful when cleaning the circuit board. There are some surface mount devices that can easily be knocked loose if you rub too hard with the towel. Other than that, this video got my Closed Caption button working again. Thanks so much!
Brilliant! A very user friendly presentation that gave me the confidence to dismantle our gremlin infected remote. I did buy a replacement first just in case, but everything was explained so simply and clearly and we now have a fully functioning spare!
Several buttons on my Panasonic HD Recorder didn't work reliably. I followed this procedure to clean the remote and now it all works and looks like new. I also cleaned the PCB with spray cleaner-lubricant. Thank you very much; very helpful.
Remove the battery and then soak it on warm soapy(dish soap) water about 5mins. to loosen the sticky mess and gently twice the remote under the warm water. I've seen keyboard with allot of soda spill that's been sticky and was easy clean and there perfectly normal after i refurbish specially the expensive mechanical keyboards.
Thanks for your comments sorry took a while to reply i don't really get notified and hardly see any msg from RU-vid ^^ my remote was nasty sticky but working. I keep wash my controller's and remote once a month if I can to keep them clean. Never use Alcohol to clean it well discolor and cracked the rubber's. Wash and Soak any rubber on Warm Water w/ Dish soap and also use warm water to rinse. There's a chemicals part on this process i did not include. It's safe and FDA approved but i make sure children well not know about it. Professional Use Only. Works wonders on cars i might add ^^.
