Today, we show you 3 simple DIY techniques to repair a frayed shoelace / shoestring / bootlace / broken aglet, because those damaged laces tips can be fixed and look like new in just a few minutes!
► TECHNIQUE #1
- You will need: clear tape.
- Plus: Really easy to do.
- Minus: Durability of repair.
► TECHNIQUE #2
- You will need: Superglue / CA glue / A piece of Polyethylene (PE) / Clamp.
Note: Superglue / CA glue does not adhere well to Polyethylene (PE), so the shoe lace does not end up being glued to the working surface
- Plus: Cheap and easy.
- Minus: Not too pretty but can be combined with technique 1 for a better finish
► TECHNIQUE #3
- You will need: shrink tubing / heat gun (or other heat source)
- Plus: Durable and good looking
- Minus: May require you to buy shrink tube. Note: I used the size of shrink tubing I already had at hand. A bigger size (diameter) would work better since causing less problem with initial lace threading.
