I was trying to find a replacement seatbelt when I thought I'd just try to find an answer on RU-vid.... this was a miracle fix!!! I used WD40 dry lube and had to play with it a couple dozen times and it finally clicked!!! Woohoo!! Saved me a bunch of money and headache! Thank you!!
I was having the same problem, it was difficult to press the button and “pop” my seatbelt out. I used the only lubricant I had on hand, which was 3-IN-ONE penetrant. It took me all of 30 seconds to get it working and had trouble with it for years. Had I knew it was going to be this easy, I would have researched the solution a long time ago. Not sure how long it will last but I’m thankful for this video. Not sure if this is helpful to anyone but my car is a 2004 Honda Civic EX. I confirm this works.
This morning my seatbelt would not click in place. I saw your video, and tried a couple of squirts with my WD-40. It worked on the first attempt! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
I did the same as H. Olsen. It worked and fixed what would be a expensive fix elsewhere. Wd-40 didn't work and I was looking for other solutions. Thank you so much.
Your video fixed my seatbelt and saved the day. I gave it 4 blasts filling up the seatbelt receiver and had to insert buckle about 30 times, adding another shot of the Blaster brand white lithium grease ($5.88) from Lowes and 30 more inserts but it finally latched. Thank you so much!!! You saved a big headache and big bill.

My seatbelt would not latch. I tried a little white lithium grease but nothing changed. So after seeing this video, I took my can of grease back out (remembering to shake well) and sprayed heavily. I worked at trying to latch and pushing button lever repeatedly for a little while and Viola It started clicking to lock and opening easily. I sprayed the other one for good measure while I was with spray in hand. Thanks!
Same issue on my 2005 toy Corolla, didn't think about trying this but I know it definitely works to fix sticking/stuck/hard to turn locks/latches on just about everything.
Hello T TV, had this issue for many, many months tried WD 40 found it usless, bought a SH unit to replace it, found your Solution of White Lithium Grease Spray, applied it and... SIIS... 'Sorted it In seconds', Safety now assured all due to your Video. Thank you so very, very much for taking the time to upload this. #KUDOS Sir.
THANKS!!! I was ready to buy a new buckle assembly for my Ford F250, after checking out all the RU-vid vids on my truck when I came across your vid. Sprayed some silicon spray in there, and Voila, it was a miracle!

Yep (In my case spraying with some penetrating oil then jiggling it and I heard some gunk inside break and it started working again, wasn't allowing the latch in at all initially...)

Thank you, this video helped to fix the passenger seat belt buckle that did not latch. I tried wd-40 initially, but it did not help. Then I bought a spray with lithium consistent grease and it helped! Worth noting though that it took 10-15 minutes until it started to work properly after spraying this stuff and repeatedly trying to latch it.

Well it's hard to tell on how the mechanism is worn out. But maybe some springs just does not move to lock it. Lubricating might help and might not. But it can't make it worse 😊
Hi Willie, did it work for you the lubricant? I have the same problem with the rear seat buckle and that's where my grand daughters seat... Please let me know what you did. Many thanks!
Well, if you will manage some grease into the mechanism, it might get unstuck. Unless it's mechanically broken... For example, if the spring is broken, then the grease won't help here obviously...
Nope sorry. Get your cars manual or better yet, deliver the car to authorized technician. Seatbelt replacement should be done correctly. It's a safety device. Take care.
Well, usually the fault with all buckles is the mechanism loosing lubrication. So if it's possible to remove the seat belt buckle. You should try this method. If it's stuck and you can release it, then some assembly might be required.

I took mine apart but it still wouldn't latch correctly, even with a little bit of lubricant. But, I put the buckle into the latch & slap the outside it connects & latches. Craziest thing that's ever happened to me with our Tucson lol, Slap the side & it works lol, But man-oh-man I won't repeat what my Wife said to me while I was showing her how to get it to work lol.... Thanks for the video anyways...
This is common with Volvo, i take mine apart and add length to the 19 year old spring..mine now pop out better than new. I know this beacause i bought one new for my previous Volvo v70
Well actually this the first time I have seen happen this to a Volvo. Have driven quite a few of them 😊 . Had some people comment that this a Volvo V50 issue.
I just spent a month trying to order a new receptor from China cause the last video I watched said to try wd40 and it didnt work. If this works for me, Im going to be soo mad!! But grateful for the video. Ty

Try spraying with WD40 all around it. And try wiggling. Get a tool to force unlock it. It depends on a buckle construction of course. Google your specific buckle make.

what do you mean stuck without seatbelt? Well it's the same problem. Spring mechanism got dirty and lost lubrication and now it's stuck. So it needs lubrication and then try working it with butter knife or something similarly shaped.
@@TarantuloTV what i saying is the belt will not go in the buckle because the mechanism that locks it preventing it from going in the buckle ...im gonna do a video. when i do I'm gone send u a message so u can see what I'm talkn about.. i will try lube n butter knife thanks for reply i appreciate your time
based on this video lithium grease is not recommended to be put around plastics (I gues the seat belt buckle is plastic). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JUkzNo5NG3g.html So should I still do it or should I use something else than lithium one?
You are going to put on the plastic parts. The inside and the mechanism inside is all metal. I have done this to my own the car and both seat belt buckles are working smoothly. If you are still worried you can you silicon based greases I think they will work just fine and they are fine on plastics.
Use a tube like straw to focus the stream I used a dry lubricant 3in1 lock dry lubricant watch this short video and the Man whose solution I am talking about and help me upload this video and my website illustration
If something is stuck inside and you need to take apart the seat buckle GOOD FUCKING LUCK! I have spent ten hours on the internet trying to figure out how to open a mazda 3 2008 buckle and cant for life of me find out.
Mechanical mechanisms requires lubrication. Locks, hinges and everything that has mechanical moving parts. This is the actual fix. Five years later after this video, still working perfectly.
