I'm not using a lock screen password but Encryption is turned on in Security under Settings on my Android phone. I may have accidentally turned it on as I was looking at things in the Security section for the heck of it. I can't turn it off. Is it true on newer Androids it is already set to on? It didn't start going through any processing thing just now but I'm worried if I turn off my phone and back on again I won't have access to my phone. Since I didn't set any lock screen password can I still access my phone with Encryption being on?Again I don't know if I just now turned Encryption on but I can't turn it off. I wish I hadn't looked at the security section as I think I accidentally turned it on but don't know if it already was on. Again I'm worried I won't be able to get back into my phone even if I didn't set a password and lockscreen with Encryption being on. Please help.

This popped up on my phone, scared the shit out of me because I never set a password, and then disappeared when I restarted. So... pro tip, try restarting your phone first before deleting _everything._

make sure to put your contacts on paper or on your computer notes an save your music to your sd card so that u dont lose everything or try to save it to your sd card that way u dont lose everyhing i just lost all my contacts doing this lmao

This is useless if the person had a gmail account logged in previously. The phone would be bricked if you attempted this and didn't remember your email.
