All I can say is thank for posting this…I have a 06 Trailblazer that has the same problem and I’m doing that as I’m typing…This is much faster and it works very well 👍🏾
Even if I can`t get the actuator working , watching this , looks like I can turn it by hand with or without the actuator in the way , by just reaching in and turn it . Thank you . Well Done .
just did this on my papa’s 2006 envoy and it was far better than everyone else’s technical and proper ways. Regardless it still didn’t fix it so i’m still hunting but saved me lots of pain
There is a much easier and much less invasive way to do it. Just drill a hole through both sides of the "C" shaped metal brace, in line with the screw head and just big enough to fit the 5.5mm socket through. Once the screws (all 3) are out, you can just use a little leverage to slightly bend the metal brace to make enough room to get the actuator out. You don't actually need to bend the metal, just push it enough to flex it out of the way.

Just because it's easier doesn't make it right .. there's a right way of doing things and the theres a worng way of doing things ,always! and that right there is the wrong way, my friend. 😲 it's like cutting a locked door to get threw when there's a key to unlock it in your pocket
