Step by step video showing how to replace a broken car power window & door lock switch. The power window & door lock switch replacement in this video was on a late 90's to 2005 Hyundai Sonata or Kia Optima. The video applies to cars of all makes & models. I'll be saving a lot of money by using a good used replacement OEM auto part that will usually outlast most new aftermarket parts. Get your car power window working again. Enjoy the video!

This takes me back. There's a "u pull it" pretty close to where I grew up. A couple friends and myself used to go to there anytime we we needed car parts and even just parts for random projects. Way cheaper than buying new and honestly it's the way to go if you don't have money falling out your ass (like myself). I always enjoyed walking around, looking at all the cars on the lot and talking about them. Honestly it's been 20 plus years since if stepped foot on a junk yard. This video has reminded of those times and I might have to take a trip to one soon. Thanks for this reminder. Very informative video as always. 🍻 my friend!

@@electronicsNmore... always a thumbs up! Hey, I also came up with an idea you might like to tackle. I noticed in comments you said centering up a head mounted gopro was next to impossible. Well how about making (maybe 3d print) an adjustable bracket that could be easily mounted to the Gopro, and hold one of those cheap, little keychain laser pointers, then adjust it so the dot coincides with the center of the frame. Then, you would always have a good idea where the camera is pointed in the field... Wish I could patent the idea. . .lol
@electronicsNmore
@electronicsNmore 3 года назад
@@Quickened1 Actually, they need a laser pointer installed on them. Just press a button to see where the center of the field of view is. Great idea. It would help a lot.
@Quickened1
@Quickened1 3 года назад
@@electronicsNmore Indeed! But with the millions in circulation, a clip on version would probably be very popular! I can clearly see a print design in my head that would work, but alas, I neither have a 3d printer, nor a Gopro...lol

Great video ENM! IF one is handy, that's the way to go for sure. Haven't been to one of those salvage auto parts places in a long time. BTW, how did you check that the part worked prior to removing it? I was thinking, what would you have done if the part didn't work after you went through all that trouble? 😉😁

The feel of the switches was good. If one switch wasn't working right, then I could've cleaned the contacts or used one of my other switches to make it right. Thanks for watching!

I always throw the extra parts inside the car, and try not to damage them. The trim around the switch assembly had scratches on it, and the black paint on the door handle area was all worn off, so I didn't mind breaking the plastic tabs. Thanks for watching!

I used to have 6 wrecking yards within 5 miles of my house, but now there's only one. It's a "U Pull" variety, and the small stuff gets trashed. I was looking for Crown Vic wheel center covers like the police cars use, but the few I found were crushed. The staffed yards used to pull that stuff as soon as the cars came in, but that costs too much now I guess.

@@electronicsNmore I’ve tried that and since it was an off brand, I’m wondering if one of the pins are damaged etc. What is truly odd is the passenger side also will not roll up or down via its switch. It will lock when keys are not in it. Here’s the kicker my key fob is NOT programmed to roll windows up or down when pressed in a sequence. However, from time to time when I unlock the door the windows roll down? That’s what happened now and why it’s parked with a cover over the window. I’m in Missouri & it’s been raining. Had the key fob not rolled down the passenger window all would be good since 1. I can’t roll down from the drivers side (both front windows or lock) 2. Can’t manually roll down from passenger side. I’ve checked fuses, plugged and unplugged the newish control module, check current with volt meter. Is there a fuse on the wiring harness itself? Thank you for your response. You’re videos are extremely helpful. I started with a ceiling fan box and ended on this issue lol.

U seriously made a video about going to a junkyard for used parts? I was going to these before Ebay and Amazon were ever thought of, most of the ones in my area are already picked over anyways!
@electronicsNmore
@electronicsNmore 3 года назад
The video was about fixing/replacing a car power window switch, and taking my viewers with me on a short trip to a salvage yard, which most guys enjoy going to. The video also shows viewers that many "GOOD", low cost OEM parts can be found at salvage yards, since many people seem to think the parts are no good. You must live near dead lots, where I live they're always adding and taking away vehicles. What happened to all the polite, and appreciative viewers on YT? That's the only comment you could come up with after I spent hours and hours creating this video? The viewership is definitely in decline.
