after she has removed the screws @2:50 the wholr motor/drive assembly seperates away. I have done EXACTLY what she has done but, although half the drive is now loose, the far end of it and the motor are STILL rock solidly in place!!. Is there some other screw that she has not mentioned?.

there is one screw further up near the front ( she does point to it but the video does not show her removing it. If you have an old hover there may be grass covering the screw.

I just replaced the drive assemble on my Flymo 300v. When I now start it, it makes a really high pitched screaching noise for the first few seconds before then operating normally. Could it be that the belt is slipping or maybe rubbing? Also before I put the new drive assembly on the drive wheel didnt rotate freely like it does in this video, should i be concerned about this?

It is usual for the screech when you start it up.

@@robertmorris2899 this screech wasn't normal. I found out the part was faulty. The drive wheel was really stiff and causing massive strain on the motor to get it moving, it nearly burnt out in the process. I've returned the part and am waiting for a new one.

The lid doesn't come off so easily as in vid it appears to be held by 2 lugs and they don't want to come out any help out there? graeme

+Graeme Gibbons A tip we use when we do not have great information is to look up the case parts. From there images it sometimes shows hidden fixings or screw holes that become obvious when you return to the device. :-)

its not held in by lugs (thats what I initially thought too), there is a single extra crosshead screw which you access (hidden) on the front of the main skirt (grey part not the oaring top)
