Thanks for the video, very helpful. Just a couple of points for the less mechanically adept: removing the interior plastic cover was quite difficult for me, plastic was very stiff and very hard to get finger in to release the last catch without breaking the plastic. Also be careful not to drop a nut into the door well as I did.
Hi Neil, thanks for watching and your comment, yes I have dropped bolts in many doors over the year so you are not alone. I have a great set of plastic levers which I use a lot of the time for taking them off. Regards Ross
HI There, Unfortunately I cannot remember as this was some time ago, however it will depend on the functionality of the mirror, does it fold, heat etc. It is best to just take the cover plate off and check on your model.
Great video, but the power cable to the tweeter wouldn't come out for me so i had to work around it. Now i've put a new wing mirror on, the pair are out of sync! I've tried disconnecting the battery but no joy. Any idea? Am thinking about opening up and trying to fix the old wing mirror which would open out too far. TIA
Hi there, thanks for the comment and watching is it the sound from the tweeter or the mirrors opening that is out of sync? If it is the tweeter try reversing the cables, if its the wing mirror itself is the new one from the same year model? it sounds like it was some kind of stopper that broke on your last one, maybe just that portion could be replaced from the new one?
Hi great video, thank you this is very helpful. I have a Triton 2018 GLX plus model without electric motor mirrors or indicators. However, because of scuffs, I'm wanting to install new aftermarket mirror covers with indicators. I'm not quite sure how to wire or plug electrics. Do you have any information or know of a video that can give me a demo or any other advice. Thanks, heeps!
Hi there Linky, unfortunately I have never fitted after market ones, can you not get originals from a wreckers? If not I would be looking to cut the original plugs off the broken wing mirrors and attaching them to the cabling of the after market ones (obviously tracing what each one does) sorry I cannot be of more help. Ross
Hi, is there any chance you can do a video of removing just the wing mirror covers??? Looking online for a tutorial on that and there doesn't seem to be any at all.
My L200 mirror is loose and vibrates quite badly when driving. At night I can’t clearly work out how close or far vehicles are behind me as everything turns into light streaks. Does this mean I need a new mirror or is there a way of adjusting/ tightening it up so it does not vibrate.
Hi there Loman, it sounds like it has been hit and the mirror has popped out of the retaining clips have you tried checking if it can be pushed back into socket?
@@XIXjlo well it sounds to me like the piece that holds the glass in has come loose, it might be worth you taking it off like I did in the video and then remove the glass and cover. You should be able to see what is loose inside
Hi John, Sounds like the guide has snapped inside, you could take it apart and try to weld or bolt something in position? hard to say without seeing it. Ross
