Very clear instructions and well-filmed. I'm going to replace the tire but needed to figure out how to remove the front tire first and this video showed me exactly that with excellent verbal instructions alongside the video demonstration. Thanks big time! Thumbs up and faved.

Followed it and it went smooth, THX. I did put on a string when removing the old wires to be able to assist with pulling the new wires back. It worked fine (in addition to move the remaining wire a bit back and forth). And then I also had to insulate the wires as it seems there had been a shortcut melting some of the wires. But still, it worked with a new motor only.

Before you replace your motor check the pins of the cable. I had a shortcut there that caused this issue

I got the replacement on ebay which is a new motor/tire/bottom frame i believe called the front fork of scooter. I just am having trouble getting the nuts off (two nuts on each side) as they are probably factory tight on there. Any suggestion for getting the nuts off?

@@user-rg5nk5fd8g I bought one from Amazon that claimed to be 350 Watt I believe... Terrible !!! So in the end I just contacted Segway for the original one. The Amazon couldn't even get me uphill on a street I used daily.

I don’t, however you can tighten up the stem with the screw. I’f that doesn’t work you’ll have to pack the stem with something so it doesn’t wobbly. try using strong tape on the inside

Hello! I've followed along doing the exact same to my scooter, but now Im on the tug wires part, and can't for the love of god get the old wires out. How did you do it? Did you take the battery cable out first, or one cable at a time?

Your at the most tricky part. You just have to try and take one cable at a time out. It’s really fiddly but just be careful not too pull to hard or you could break the cables

thanks very much for this. can you explain the sound your motor was making please? i think i'll have to change mine, it sounds a little like a bearing is loose but the wheels spins ok when ridden without power. i can still use it but takes a little longer to get up to speed.

@@Techtekk I have a loud noise that started happening during braking, and a few minutes later it happened also when accelerating. It sounds like something is loose inside the wheel. I took your advice and ordered a new wheel. But out of curiosity, I opened up the cover and it looks spotless inside. nothing loose at all (ES3) Have you ever diagnosed a motor? I would like to keep it as a spare if it isn't too hard to fix!

Hi I have a problem, my front wheel is not alligned with the handlebars and it’s stuck and whenever I try to I tighten the screws on the headset and at the lower front, the screws don’t budge and the Allen key doesn’t move anywhere, help please

My ES4 e-scooter has an exposed wire located: behind front tire / bottom of long stem. This wire snapped due to the sharp edges & folding the scooter. What is this wire and How can I replace it? Is there a video, link or diagram 😩😳

My ES4 has just started making one of those vibrating, grinding kind of sounds, especially on accelerating. Are there any bearings in the front wheel motor hub that have got loose, or is it quite literally do what you've done - remove and replace?

Hey, I have an issue after I replaced my engine. With the tightening of the front wheel. I cant really tighten it that much before the wheel is just stuck. And therefore the screws get quite loose after only a few days use. Am I doing it wrong or have I overseen something? I know the video is old, but I really do hope that you'll see this and maybe give me a clue as to what is going on.

It sounds like you may have cross threaded the screws or the screw thread on the motor. You might need to replace them so you get a tight fit

@@701_user There are some sort of metal plate between, thats supposed to support the tightening of the screws. They can be really tricky to get right, but if they actually sit right you can tighten the screws and they wont come lose. You might need to fiddle abit with it. But after I tried and failed a lot of times I finally got it :) Hope it works for you

Thanks Daniel for your helpful video. A couple of questions. You didn’t mention why you were replacing the wheel/motor. Was it because of a noisy motor/regen braking problem? That is certainly my problem. I have ordered a replacement motor but I have also seen many comments saying the problem is with the controller not the motor. If your problem was a noisy motor did your replacement fix it. Sound like a silly question I know but you didn’t do a before and after test so It’s a bit of an unknown. Second question: I see that you bought a non original motor/wheel from AliExpress. I considered doing that too but was put off by their measurement of 21cm diameter which would be too big and would most likely result in the tyre rubbing against the front mudguard/fender. What was your experience with this?

Your welcome. I did at the start but unfortunately the background music got copyrighted so i had to replace the audio. The problem was a noisy motor and yes it did fix the issue and iv’e not had any issues since even by ordering one from aliexpress

I think this happened to my scooter today after using the electronic brake going full speed. The sound my scooter makes is exactly the same. Did yours start vibrating and only able to go half speed as well?

Hola tengo el mismo...cuando lo enchufo se prenden las luces incluso la delantera pero se apaga h se cuelve a prender asi constantemente , y la rueda de atras esta media dura .al girar la rueda con la mano el velocimetro marca la velocidad de giro, al desenchufar se apaga y solo me deja un segundo de energia am intentar prenderlo..puede ser la bateria q esta en corto?

What size lug nut is the front wheel? Also I bought a bird scooter from Walmart with the non folding stem. I bought a ninebot folding front fork to swap out. Can you post a video of how to remove the front fork?

@@theowink , i found a guy with exact same problem. he said it's the control board for sure (burned cables due to overheating). i'll open the upper part tomorrow and try to find where the cables have burnt. not sure they have, but i've got a feeling... well, i used it for 3 moths with hacked software reaching 38km/h (and i'm 96kg!). kinda happy anyway :D

No need to change the engine you could replace or repair the green wire. that's where the error is and it was the sound.

I used a third party motor. The fact the original motor was faulty out the box tells me the original isn’t worth the extra money. Links in description if you want to see what product I used

I have noticed that you cannot buy the genuine motor anymore but fake 350watt knock offs are now on sale for stupid money in England like the one in this video. Would be amazing if you could enlighten us about curent performance and quality? Were you paid to review the fake wheel? Now everyone, would you like me to install this on my scooter, review test drive quality and report back in 3 months to you? I will order it for everyones sake and piece of mind. This isn’t a review of the motor. It’s a how to video. However I’ve had no issues with the motor and the performance is the equivalent to the original.

@@Techtekk now thats the awnser i was looking for. I will be installing mine tomorrow on an es1 which had a 250watt motor, now this is the knock off 350 watt one which should show an increase in speed to 15 mph, torque and milage, as i have also installed the extended battery too. Hope this comes down in price for es owners sake.
