On the older style rideplates the plastic fittings tend to break when you remove the plate. New is probably the way to go unfortunately. I find Partzilla has the best prices www.partzilla.com/catalog/sea-doo/personal-watercraft/2008/rxt-x-255/propulsion I got my used 2012 version on eBay
