So very glad I accidentally found your channel. I’m a female married to Avery sweet man….but he doesn’t do Honey Does around our home. Now I can…HONEY DOES myself. But if nothing else I’ll know if a plumber is doing it right. I’ll let you know how it goes.🤞
Did it work, yea, but a few things. 1, you should not leave the cover off of the meter, rare, but just wait till someone steps in and gets hurt, it's going to cost you, at least put a orange cone there. 2, unless the old valve was bad, why replace it, and while you did deburr it, you didn't clean the pipe, leaving the chance for the oring to leak.(ps, I NEVER allow any push on sharkbite fittings on any of my properties) 3, learn the correct way to turn the pliers, they will grip better and less scratching of the fitting. 4, most places require the toilet to be siliconed around the base after being installed.

Thank you for this very good demonstration. I have 2 toilets that need changing. Even being a 70 year old lady, I think I can do it. I will look at the video again before I get started.
@@justtube1672My thoughts as well. Having done this a couple times when I was MUCH younger, i'm not sure i would be steady enough to handle the bowl so easily now.
Just FYI you don't need to replace the stop (water shut off) to change your toilet but if you want to it's best to get a pro because it requires a plethora of special tools you'd have buy for 1 time use. Most people don't change that valve when they change a toilet; it's really only necessary if the valve is leaking or locked up.
I am not a fan of SharkBite as I used a number of their fittings in my basement about 11 years ago and 2 of them developed very small leaks after about 8 to 9 years after their install. I am not a plumber but my father in law was and he helped me with updating the plumbing in my basement. All of the cooper pipes were free of burrs and I have now replaced all of the SharkBite fittings with brass or cooper fittings that were sweated. Now none of my sweated fittings have ever leaked..
Don’t do it 😂😂😂you’ll thank me later when you have to go buy the tool to remove it because you should have put a compression fitting been there done that
