For everyone wondering, the Lemon BMW videos are coming up shortly but we had a mishap at the race which messed up all my planned videos haha. But stay tuned because once the car is back, I have some epic videos to share with you guys!
I've never seen a more complete collection of car repair guides that make me feel so encouraged to tackle jobs on my old truck... Thanks Chris, really.
Phenom. I like the bolt modification segment because it really teaches people that a small change of plans while making a repair doesn't have to mean a major headache! Adapt and overcome.
Chris you saved my car and life my dad used my truck and the window stopped working so I just watched your video right before a big rain storm thank you
Tip: When you gonna cut a bolt to size, take one or two nuts and put them all the way up on your bolt before sawing the remainder off. Then when you're done cutting, you remove these temporary nuts again and that will straighten out any part of the thread that got damaged while sawing, so your final nut will go on smooth.
Hey chris you have inspired me to modify my car your vids are family friendly with no swearing its very informative and helpful and you make it look so easy with common hand tools you are the best youtuber in the world you deserve 50 million subscribers even tho i am 9 years old i understand every word you are saying again you have helped everybody wok on there cars and inspired those who wish to start a diy youtube channel again chris you are the best and when you see a 9 year old can fluently understand your vids you know you are the best youtuber in the world and you never quit i will watch you for ever i have 5 cars and i love fixing them cuz you are so imformative i own a audi a8 d3 2009 fiat doblo 1.3 multijet a fordghia a van i used to own a moterhome thanks again chris for everything you are such a nice guy!

14:50 - I always have the nut on the bolt past the cut, then back the nut out to fix the cut threads. Otherwise you may have problems getting the nut onto the cut threads. Great video. Need to do my truck soon too.
It's so fun how I can watch a guy walk through replacing a window motor in a car door for 20 minutes and I only wish it was longer; it's the most perfectly entertaining thing for me. Not only that though, your unique positive energy and your genuine enthusiasm is so contagious it brings me such joy for every single second. You've helped me so much with the work I've performed on my own cars (my first car was a real mess when I got it) and given me a great deal of confidence to do pretty much anything mechanical. I will literally never ever get tired of you, please never stop making videos Chris!
@@wooterbottle1940 but the we will have chris fix like once a year, he definitely would have a full queue line so he wouldn't have any spare time :((( also i wanna see my man drift again, once he sorts out his problems ofc
Thank you for showing the butyl rubber trick to get the big chunk small and thin. I spent so much time looking for skinny rubber and couldn't find any so then went to the window motor videos on youtube.
Chris I’m 15 and I just sold a Porsche to buy a Lamborghini kit car that will hopefully get me a GTR and the only way I would have been able to do it was because you and your videos working me through step by step. THANK YOU SO MUCH CHRIS.
You are awesome," Hey guys Chris fix here", if you're ever in San Francisco give me a call, I have a 2002 mustang, I've had some problems with it but I'm still working to get it running, all the work you do I've learned from you.
Electrician here. Really good part on the electrics side, however you could have also mentioned that if you really *need* to replace a fuse and don't have the fitting one, you could also always use a smaller size one and hope that it doesn't blow. The fuses are there to protect the components and the cable tree, and nothing else. So, if it pops at a smaller current, it really doesn't damage your car. Also it would've been cool of you to show replacement of the moisture barrier using parts that you can get at a regular hardware store. Other than that, I love your videos. Keep it up.
I'll be the one to put it out there.. A lot of us watching this already know how to diagnose and replace a window motor/regulator, but we still choose to watch Chris's videos just for the production quality. Keep up the good work man!
Any idea why a window won’t stay on its track? This is the 2nd regulator replacement and I will be taking it in for the 3rd time! (The first regulator was defective) I just want ideas as to what they could be doing wrong or not doing!
@@cindyk4199 Some vehicles have a very particular track! It can appear that the window is perfectly on track but actually not be which will cause it to completely pop out of the track.
Thanks @ChrisFix for that trick to check the wire loom that goes to the door, my driver side speaker randomly goes off and on again and that's what was causing it! Keep up your great videos, I love all the details you add and how you always explain things clearly 👍
Another great video. I had the same problem with my old Chevy Beauville van. It looked identical to your motor. I had no drill or replacement motor, so I chiselled the rivets off and took apart the motor. The brushes were good but there was dirt and corrosion, so I cleaned everything and scraped out the grooves of the armature with a broken utility knife blade. After finding nuts and bolts and putting it all back together, and trying it, I was surprised by fast it moved. Better than the passenger side. I'm fairly certain that you could've fixed your motor too🙂
step 1: open a chrisfix video step 2: like the video step 3: watch the video step 4: remember that i dont actually have this problem with my car step 5: enjoy the video anyway because of the craftsmanship
Awe! I had to replace one of these last year! This video would have been great! Your videos have helped me complete my first project car over the last year! Now I have a 99 Jetta I got for under a grand and everything works my first step was fixing the power window! Your AC compressor video has been particularly helpful, replaced 2 on 2 different vehicles and I always reference your videos! Please dont stop making these videos, at first you helped me fix my car, but now Im taking projects, thank you for the start!
Hi Chirs,I have been following your channel for years. I really looking forward for your video on restoring a water demage car or truck. Its been flood everywhere in the world this summer. I think it is a very necessary and important to show people how they can get their car running again after being flooded.
Sometime the window will roll down then gets stuck and a grinding noice can be heard this could mean a gear is broken which costs 4$ on amazon. Source: every mazda owner 2007 - 2009
Chris I am a huge fan! My 2004 Saturn L300 that was my grandpa’s before he passed has quite a few things that need to be replaced and I am too scared to do it myself, even with your videos . Would you ever consider letting subscribers pay for your services ? It would be so cool!
15:00 little trick to not damage the thread, put a nut over the screw before cutting it in half, then remove the nut and boom you got a perfect thread again
Hey congratulations on being number one youtuber. As a .A.S.E master tech. You show how to save money and diagnosis the problem. What I look for in auto repair. Well done
3/4 of the windows on my truck have had different issues since I got it almost 3 years ago. Never bothered getting them fixed since they weren’t really a big issue for me. Driver window is super slow, passenger window can only be rolled up by the passenger, and rear right window is completely dead. I might try some of the simple checks in this vid, might actually be able to fix a couple of them, thanks for the vid.
Bro when u replugged the new motor u should test it once soo that it is confirm that it works well...BTW ur videos are soo helpfull for car guys..Keep it up
His neighbors Chris takes out camera Neighbor: no Chris takes out his tool kits Neighbors: Noo Chris starts working on the cars and talks to the cars and camera. Neighbors: NO GOD PLEASE HELL NO NOOOO
Thanks! Just did regulator for my 05 lesabre. I would advise to clean the glass before operating the window. The steel cables freyed and some of those tuny metal bits scratched the glass when the new one was in.
Some washers like the one shown in the video are not removable and are stopped by the thread on bolt. At least that's the reason I worked out from the video.
I appreciate you going the extra mile and showing how the diagnosis is a little different on another car. How do I find out if parts are interchangeable? That seems like a really good skill to have.
Been aware of this guy's existence years ago when he was just starting out. And he aged gracefully. Don't know if he's a mechanic or a panel beater but he's like the Tony Stark of vehicles. I'm genuinely curious about how he became what he is now. Waiting for him to actually build an armored suit one day. 🤣 He also talks like that millennial You Tuber Corey from the family guy cartoon. Thought that was funny 😆 If he is a millennial, he is one of the few who did life right. If i had my own property and tools I would definitely be trying out some of his tutorials.
