How to Replace an Outlet 

Outlets should be checked periodically for wear, cracks or other signs that they should be replaced.
Turn off power at the main circuit breaker for any circuit or switch you are working on. If you are unsure how to turn off the power, contact a licensed electrician before starting any electrical work.
