Thank you so much for your detailed tutorial, if you can believe it I was sitting at my desk this morning and heard a crunching sound, turned around, and saw the cat munching on the up arrow key, I yelled pices went flying. Crawled around on the floor and amazingly found all three pieces. All back together and working fine. Thank you sir!
This video was really helpful - was able to replace a broken scissor mechanism myself! Saved me a load of dosh that a repair place would have charged me, thanks!
Thank you for the video. I ordered a new arrow key off you and it come quickly and your video doesn't talk absolute BS it's quick clear and informative. Thank you!
Thank you! I was playing this game and I got a bit upset. I aggressively brushed my hands agianst the keyboard and the right part of they up key came off:(. This video helped me sooo much. Tysm!!!!!!
One of my arrow keys got sort of "mushy." I took off the key cap following these instructions, and a short beard hard came out. Now it's like new again.
thank you so much, you've saved me a few hundred quid at the apple store after trying to clean under a key and the mechanism snapped and they'd only replace the whole keyboard...
Thank you very much, I finally fixed my up arrow on magic keyboard after using it for couple months without that button. My situation was a bit complicated as I had the 2 plastic pieces disassembled when I was trying to fix it so I had to try different combinations to put them together first. Also the part on the key where we fit the internal plastic by sliding, was deformed and I was thinking it was hopeless to fix this. But using needle I bended a bit deformed parts and was able to put the key back. Would be useful if there is a part of assembling 2 internal plastic things together. I have photos of mine if anyone needs it.
I have a bought a macbook pro M3 pro, A2992 model with german keyboard. I want to switch Y with Z keys on keyboard. Could you please share the key mechanism and how to remove it? I saw the mechanisms differs from one model to another. Thanks!
Oh my gosh, Thank you so much! I watched another video after taking my key cap off, it was really confusing and unclear. I was panicking so much, thank you for the clear and easy instructions!
Excellent video, thanks! My 'up' key popped off the wrong side first, but with your clear instructions I was able to completely strip it down and assemble it how it should be: QED! One happy 'customer'.
This is such a good tutorial! Thank you so much, I thought I'd have to pay for my whole key board to be replaced but I did it at home easily !! Thanks so much
Thank you so much! I was about to try to just push the new keycap on, but I'm so glad I watched your video first and found out about the hooks and clasps, or I would have just broken the new key or the clip or both!
Great video, clear, concise and good cinematography, you got in close enough that you can see the details and know exactly what to do. Fixedmy keyboard in a jiffy! You save me a trip to Apple service. My Lovebird ripped the right arrow off my keyboard and flew off with it! Luckily I saw where he dropped the key. 🙂🙂🙂🙂
Thanks for video! I sadly snapped all clips aside of just one side, so I went ahead and used small hints of Gorilla glue to stick it together. Now I know for next time.
Yo man, i removed the keycap to clean some ice cream from under it, now it doesn't work properly, i have to hold it, and then it keeps going on until i hold it again, i used a safety pin for cleaning the ice cream, would i have accidentally messed with the circuitry or something?
You are a life saver!!! My daughter spilt my coffee over my arrow keys last week and ive now finally been able to remove, clean and replace the keys! I accidentally snapped one of the keys trying to get it back on before seeing your video... now I know exactly how to remove and replace properly it works perfectly! Thank you thank you thank you!
Note: If you have trouble at about 2:10, check the bottom of your keycap and see if you may have, like my dumb ass did, smooshed the tiny nubs of plastic that you're meant to slip the scissor plastic thing under on the left side of the keycap. I had smooshed them flat trying to jam the key back on before finding this video. I was able to stick a blade under each of them and gingerly pry them up enough to fix my keycap. What a terrible keyboard to repair this thing is! Good video though!
You are a hero without a cape, while cleaning my MacBook I accidentally tore off a key and couldn’t put it back, but with the help of your tutorial everything works as before, thank you very much.
I accidentally popped my left key and it open from wrong side so I tried to fix it by pressing it and it won’t work then I showed to one MacBook repair store, he suggested me to replace all keyboard and the amount is to big which I can’t afford. After watching this video I successfully fix the key and It works. Thanks a lot to upload such helpful video🤗
Hello, thank you for your videos and help. I wanted to reach out to see if you sold the rubber cups for the keyboards as well? I currently have an issue with two of them and it is not worth it to me to replace the entire top case for such a simple issue. Apple quoted me at $800 for this repair and it is not worth it to me.
Thank you! Great video! My toddler took a couple of my arrow keycaps off and I was able to get the left one on, but not the bottom arrow. It just won't click on the left side, but does on the right. Do I need a new keycap?
stupidly I was trying to remove a key to clean it and snapped the fixing on the keys bought another, thanks to your video its now back in place, thankyou.
Thank You so much man I got dust particle under the button so I was cleaning by mistake put extra pull force because of that the button pulled out and I was trying to assembled it but it didn't then I found your video it helped me a lot man You saved my bucks.
