I think this may actually help me put my previous laptop's keyboard back together as well, luckily I didn't need to use it again but I just couldn't figure out what to do with the little metal bars to make them go back into place correctly. Great stuff.
i dont have the necessary parts to replace a key but at leas i know now that i can lift it without breaking it, cleaned it and its already doing better than previously so well done definitely saved me a trip to a repair shop edit: it wa a temporary fi a you can tell, multiple key no longer function

Thanks dude! I was worried I would have to take the whole thing apart to replace my space bar key. Great tutorial, I am now typing with my new space bar key. On a side note, it's kind of ridiculous to name your laptop TufGaming and the 4 keys that most gamers use are the first ones to wear out.
if you're having problems with the large key caps on similar keyboards. try placing the metal bar in at the top first instead of the bottom. then slot in the bottom with the keycap attached and clip it to the top bar. worked for me.
Large Key Replacement for 'Shift Key' of left side works as - we need to insert the lower stabilizer into brackets first then press it from lower to upper side. Its like just opposite to 'Enter' key. I have the Asus Tuf F15 Fx506LH_FX506LH.
Going to try this, week 1 of owning the laptop I spilled Cola all over it... Was dead for weeks, now all the insides are cleaned/replaced, it works ! Only the keys are sticky, sometimes.
for some reason the "n' and 'M' keys are wearing off my asus tuf a15 i only use it to play eso (and hardly ever go on the internet or type much ) and the main keys i use is wasd / 12345 /r space and target / shift. and of course buttons on my mouse. i hardly ever click m as i have a mini map add on and notifs i open from the chat. my most use keys are not worn off at all but the 2 i dont barely use are peeling off. makes no sense. thanks for this so i can at least replace these stupid things only for them to prob peel again.
i cant figure this shit out my key hingers just wont work right i put them like you show but either the smaller piece sticks out making the key just flap arround or the bigger key sticks out doing the same
if the rubber membrane on a key has separated from the base, if that fix as simple as remove all of the membrane and glue a new one down? i was cleaning my keyboard today and accidently broke the rubber membrane when removing the key.
thankyou man, my F key was like hard to push like something was stuck. my brother like "why dont you just take the key off and see what stuck" i was like "what? u can take off laptop keys?" i was afraid cuz its expensive if broken and found out it was normal to prying the key off, thx to this tutorial.
Does anyone know if replacing the keys will fix issues such as these? - certain keys double inputting - certain keys triple inputting - certain keys not working on first press
Probably not I'm afraid - I've had similar issues on a couple of older laptops and both times it's come down to the keyboard PCB succumbing to fatigue from years of heavy fingered abuse. I'd hope the chiclet design of the TUFs may help reduce that, but given how quickly the printing has worn off, I'm not so sure. Luckily for a lot of models it barely costs any more to replace the entire keyboard assembly as it does to just refresh the keytops, but it does mean you have to open the case and do a little more surgery than just popping things off with a screwdriver then clipping new ones right back in.
So, I have the same laptop. but the key fell off. it was the "End" key which is one of the 4 arrow keys of a laptop. The problem is that the hooks that attach to the mechanism of the key has broke tiny piece. how do i fix??
What if the keys themselves aren't broken, but won't work when you press down on them? I have a problem with my S and X key. I've taken the keys off, cleaned them of debris, but nothing underneath is broken. Will replacing the brackets and rubber top fix the problem or is it an internal issue?
@@nekoakatsuki452 No, a few of my keys are worthless now. I play games so the left side of the keyboard is the side with the problem. I just have a wireless keyboard that I lean against my laptop so it's not so far away. But I can't use my S or X keys anymore. Either they don't press at all, or they press multiple times
@@nekoakatsuki452 I'm going to assume you can contact Asus to have them service your laptop, but I'm very hesitant to send my laptop through the mail and potentially lose everything, just to fix a few keys. Having a keyboard to use a laptop seems dumb as hell but it's better than losing it all or getting further damaged when being serviced.
Is it possible to replace TUF Dash F15 keys with FX505G ones? I just can't find one Brazilian Keyboard and I am thinking about tryin' to use those... They are visually similar. Please, someone help me!
I can't imagine they'd bother making multiple types of keycaps, it seems pretty much like there's only about a dozen different keyboards total used in laptops right now anyway. I'm actually looking at this for an FX506 instead of a 505 and they look identical. Why bother updating that part or specifying different ones for variant models if all you really need to do is put an update motherboard into the same shell and apply a different label? (I mean, I'd *like* them to use more variety of keyboards because the majority of modern ones absolutely suck, especially if you do a lot of actual typing rather than only using WASD, cursors, space and enter... the Asus type with the mini numpad are one of the few I've seen and tried that are in any way acceptable, but it could still be better ... like the ones you found on laptops like 15 years ago, even...)

Asus WASD keys wear down and crack very quickly ... a year and they are gone and they will not acknowledge that their keys have no right to be on a gaming Laptop! They should guarantee them for the first year at the least.. but they do not. Do not recommend
bro I like this laptop but ITS KEYBOARD is so damn WEAK not a year of use and its already broken, and its supposed to be made for "Gaming", my advise, never use laptop keyboard for gaming, specially if you play "hardcore" buy a keyboard appart just for gaming
