Am just wondering if there are foot well lights on some models? I have a 2011 VX which doesn't have them but I would like them factory if there is a model that has them?
Arggh you just made me spend more $ on my 200 Terry. 2010 60th Anniversary model with the red covers only. The plugs were there but no lights - Toyota - go figure. I had been looking for a while & then all of a sudden your video popped up. Saved me further research. Anyhow I used your link & got the same lights. They were a tight fit & I think would be a bitch to get out later if ever needed but so be it. Very bright but at least I can now see where I put my clumsy feet on the sidesteps at night. Wifey is happy with them so that's good !!! Cheers. Dave.
That is awesome Dave, there is nothing I like more than spending other peoples money, LOL! There are plenty of mod vids on the Jafffa Adventures channel so be sure to check those out so that I can spend more of your money! Seriously though, I am glad you found some value in what I put together. I do not monitise my channel, nor do I have or seek sponsorship so comments like yours are my sole motivation. Keep the shiny side up mate, and enjoy your 200. Cheers
Enlightening video this week Terry! You have me thinking of what I have in my '19 Sahara but id imagine it'll be LED already. You almost need a dipper switch for those replacement units lol. Look forward to upcoming vids mate, keep 'em coming and 'Keep The Dirty Side Facing Down' :)
Thanks Greg, a short light hearted one this time around. It’s a good chance yours would be LED already but as you saw in the video, it’s a 5 second job to double check. Dirty sides still down mate😎👍
Sorry mate, I can’t answer that it’s well above my knowledge base and pay grade😂. Perhaps another viewer will have the answer for you. Have a great weekend mate😎👍
Good comparison. Do you have the wattage of each LED Vs the original bulb? Maybe measure the current drawn by each to make a call on one of your parameters you mentioned.
@seacruise7383 good stuff mate. I think there are over 30 videos in my Landcruiser 200 Maintenance and modifications playlist with lots more to come in the future. Enjoy your stay mate. Cheers😎👍
No worries. I got the lights off epray and the details are in the video at around time stamp 2:50, I suggest you watch that. They do not come in left and right, same light fits either side.
It’s a good question Scott. Hopefully one of the viewers can comment but the hole where the light goes is reasonably large so you could use a coat hanger or fencing wire to fish it out if it’s close-ish. It’s a 5 second job to get the lens off and have a look anyway. Cheers😎👍
Thank you Terry, another great accessible upgrade. Those lights seems great the only thing i really don't like with those led is the color. This all white color make me feel at the dental clinic.
Hi Terry Another great video Really informative Question My 2008 GXL has red reflective in the door panel Did the light only start in the later models? I am going to pull it apart and check Love these upgrade videos I ordered the horn upgrade Cheers Ray
Thanks for the kind words Ray, it is very much appreciated. I’m not sure when the light started mate, I only have experience with my vehicle and it’s a 2010 VX. Once you pull your red reflector out, if there is a plug behind it then you are good to go mate. You won’t be disappointed with the horn upgrade mate, just because the factory horn is so crap. Cheers😎👍
My 2010 GXL only had red covers too mate, just get the new ones and plug in, the wiring is already there. I did that with mine 5 years ago and still working fine. Cheers Steve
As someone famous once said “an incandescent light is an excellent heater that as a bonus throws some light out”. I’ll drink to that! 😉 So Terry it could be said that you “saw the light”.
Thanks for your kind words Daniel, I really do appreciate it. I got bedazzled by the bright lights and I’m gonna pay for it in insect bites, I see that coming😂😎👍
Mate, I would not know my way around a Ford if my life depended on it! You would not want to follow my leads with mods, I’d surely steer you wrong🤓. Cheers 😎👍
Thanks for the kind words Lynden. I put inexpensive LED’s similar to the inferior ones in the test. They give off enough illumination inside the car and I get the bonus of very little amperage draw. Cheers
