This is incorrect how to disconnect rod. You will notice that he breaks one of the plastic teeth that holds the rod in place to cylinder. The proper way is actually to pull the cylinder out from the exterior of the door, and then you can slide the cylinder off the rod with just a little bit of maneuvering. I found it fairly easy when you hold the cylinder from outside the door with one hand, and the other hand can hold the rod from inside the door. Also the replacement cylinder kits don’t typically include the plastic piece he broke. That needs to be reused or bought in addition to a new lock cylinder.
Is this the same for a 2009 Ford Ranger XLT do you think. No manual window crank though. My door opens with the remote only, won't with the key. Lock knob completely disappears when locked.
