In today's video we swap out the old worn Brake Pads and Rotors for some R1 Concepts Drilled and Slotted Rotors with Brake Pads. The fronts are fairly easy to swap out. Check your brake fluid level before compressing the caliper piston.

So to compress pistons, there's a MUCH easier way. With the old pads still in and the caliper still mounted, just use a pair of channel locks and squeeze the pad backing plate against the caliper - I squeeze on the pad and pad retention pin head. Super fast and easy.

You don't have to open the master cylinder.

When you compress the piston in the caliper yes you are supposed to it lets the pressure out and compressed easier.

If you like your seals not blown out, it’s best to open the Master Cylinder

Been doing it for over 30 years, you don't have to open the master cylinder.

Are you not supposed to grease some of the friction prone parts of the system? Also,I hope you went back and torqued the caliper bolts to their required specs

11:58 the retaining pin has a bend in the middle, that part of the pin must be inserted on the side of the calipe, where there's a hole to put the retaining pin inside. What I see on the very last second of the video is the pin has been inserted the opposite way, so that bend in the middle of the retaining pin it's pointing the wrong way.
