My fuel pump fuse was #30 in my 2005 Sport Trac also; number 5 slot was unused from the factory and supposed to be that way acc. to my Owner's manual. No biggie. Everything went nicely. Thanks for a great video and may God bless you richly for it! A brother in Christ, Jim

Thank you for walking thru this painless repair. I used a new OEM part as well. Dont mess with aftermarket when it comes to stuff that can leave you stranded.

Question: do i do the same protocol to de-energize the fuel system to change the filter? i.e pull the 30amp fuse?
@homegrowncountryhomeplace
@homegrowncountryhomeplace 7 месяцев назад
Yes, you do the same. Just pull the fuse and crank. Have a Blessed Day Friend. Justin

Does your sport track have an emergency fuel kill switch? I got one on my 2005 4.0 explorer XLT under glove box on passenger side by top of door hinge area. I use this occasionally in case I need to disable my vehicle or extra security for theft. I press The fuel kill switch button before I turn engine off for about 20 -30 seconds before fuel line is barely enough and engine stalls off. I occasionally use do this in case I'm away from my vehicle for long periods of time in a distant parking lot.

Fixed my problem I just had a different fuse to pull it was still a 20amp just not number 5 it was number 30 and apparently I might have a misprint lid which said the fuse I needed to pull was number 34 but it’s number 30 concerning the fuse chart I pulled up online. Hopefully this helps anyone with a similar situation. Same truck 2005 Ford sport trac xls

1997~2003 YearModel Ford V6~4.0L~SOHC Engines usually do NOT have a FuelRailPressureSensor; for 2004+Later, these engines usually do have a FRPS Ford# cm5229 on the FuelRail behind EGRValve.

That was pretty painless...I'm pretty sure on my 2013 Ford would be a 2 week process and have to take half the engine apart to get to her lol :-)

It was really easy. A lot of times auto repair is like a puzzle. Take all the different parts and pieces apart just to get to a part and then put it all back together. Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin

Just one question brother. Do We have the car running then we pull out the fuse and wait for the engine to die before we work on it? or can we just work on it while the car is off ?
@homegrowncountryhomeplace
@homegrowncountryhomeplace 2 года назад
You have the engine running and then pull the fuse. This is to reduce the fuel pressure so that when you remove the pressure sensor, fuel doesn't spray everywhere. The engine will die and then you re-install the fuse and proceed to removing the sensor. Hope this helps. Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin

So my fuse box lid is misprinted and it definitely wasn’t the fuse he pulled at number 5 mine was number 30 which is still a 20 fuse but it’s the smaller I case anyone has that issue

@homegrowncountryhomeplace
@homegrowncountryhomeplace 4 года назад
The car is not running while you are removing the sensor. After the new sensor is installed, then you start the vehicle. Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin

Thank you, I was confused in the beginning because of when you were removing the fuse, it sounded like it was still running.
@homegrowncountryhomeplace
@homegrowncountryhomeplace 4 года назад
@@keke10293 I should have been more clear. I pull the fuel pump fuse when the engine is running to relieve the fuel pressure. The engine will die and then you turn key off and re-install fuse and remove the sensor. Only start it when the new sensor is re-installed. Hope this helps. God Bless.

I have exactly the same problem code came up for it and totally randomly it just loses power for a split second then right back to normal
@edwardmilewski4361
@edwardmilewski4361 3 года назад
Yes I put part in. 5 minutes and cleared code and it's fine now..I took off positive side battery terminal first then put in part..it actually took a few days to relearn having a new part installed but code never came back on and within a few days it was running like new....so If u replace part and it doesn't seem perfect right away its because computer is relearning having a new part go through its system..ya I know it sounds confusing but its cake...in my case because I'm a picky OCD nut that notices things others may not that's y i said it didn't feel perfect the first few days after replacing part but still was 90 % better than before it was changed out..so if u do notice it's not 100% right away give it a few days for computer to relearn new part and sync with rest of system...
