I have a chandelier thats needs G4 bulbs, but somehow the ones I have ordered recently all have thin legs, i.e. they dont stay affixed into the two G4 leg small holes. I tried a G6 but that was too big. Any reco on which G4 bulb might fit best?

The best practice would be to dismount that light housing, and take it to your local hardware or local light store and there to try to find the best fitting match. Unfortunatlly, different manufactures make different g4 light bulbs, allthought they all should have the same “leg” diameter - in many cases its all different. Try local stores! Good luck 👍

Only luckers with magnetic transformers can replace halogen 12v AC with LED. You will have incresed voltage on LED then, 14.4V instead of 12V, and on my case 2 watt loss for transformer empty drive. Lightweight electronic transformer have 100Hz 12V output and dosens problem with other parameter caused by chopping electricity by components, they just start to flicker, work, then again flicker, never ending nightmare. 10 euro for 12V 1A DC adapter power supply, 220V supply wires end from transformer, disconnect, then connect into new outlet(for extension cord), and your persisting equipment will work on LED G4 12V.

Thank you for this information, maybe I will try it sometime in the future. With the installation that I have at the moment, the bulb goes out every 6-12 months. And the new build is around 0,4$ - pretty cheap 🙂🙂🙂

I took transformer from Adsl modem abandoned by ISP. Ac/ac 12VA.

Check your wires, maybe the + and - poles are reversed!

You can easily damage the paint

Yes, you can, but luckily when you use a small sharp screwdriver you can fit it in between the light bulb and the socket without damaging the paint, if you use a wider screwdriver you will damage the paint for sure. Unfortunately, I have not found an easier way to remove this light bulb from its socket, in my case I always use a sharp screwdriver!
