I was having an issue yesterday with installing a T style head unit. I uninstalled the OEM unit (the small black screen at the top) and put the new unit it. The unit powered up, but i lost A/C controls as well as other features. I called Volvo to see if my new unit needed to be programmed, and they told me that my new unit can not be installed because the OEM unit acts as a central computer for the car. When she told me that it had me thinking that maybe you can install another head unit WITHOUT uninstalling the factory unit. Might have to relocate the factory unit though, and operate the new unit on AUX mode. Also the new unit, if it controls A/C might act as a control panel for the A/C if the factory unit is still connected. Going to try it today.
@@ThinkTechnikk i got someone to install it, leaving the ac unit panel connected. Its located under the driver seat. A little annoying to control hvac that way but it works fine.
