This video shows you how to install an impact airbag sensor on your 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado. The front impact sensor is part of the airbag system in your truck or SUV. A failed sensor will prevent the airbag from deploying properly in an accident and will trigger the airbag light in your dash.
This repair was done on a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 5.3L Extended Cab Pickup 4-Door 4WD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Awesome video, thank you! I’ve been told by the dealer that I need both airbag impact sensors replaced. Is there a video showing how to replace the other one? The part in the link is $279 for the pair and my Chevy dealer wants $795 to replace both. Even without me having a lift for convenience that looks like a 30 minute job. This is why dealers have the reputation they do. Thanks for supporting DIY stuff that is doable by most people that have gotten this far.

Thank you for the video. How can tell which sensor it is or is it just the (1) sensor? Also is the process the same for the 2014 Silverado?

Just looked at my 2011 Silverados sensors and my hex bolt is on the top, directly under the radiator and the bottom of the bolt has a reverse torx that are rusted round. I may or may have not room with box wrench, but who TF installed it like that?! If i can't get them out without removing half my front end I'll just mount them next to the old ones. 🤬

You can't get to bolts on 2010 Silverado thier underneath radiator. You have to relocate them if you don't want to take whole front end apart.

I replaced both impact sensors on my 2011 Silverado. Had to take off the radiator. Pain in @$$. Smh. Cost me $200 a piece for the two front impact sensors and a trip to the dealer to finally find out that it was the sensor under the driver seat. Smh. I spent $700 total including the 2 1/2 gallons of coolant

my question though is this part from the link supplied interchangeable on a 2007-2008 Silverado because if you search for the sensor under one of those years, it will come up with a different part number, same looking part but 2 different numbers
