How To Replace Infiniti Serpentine Belts! (FX35, FX45, G35, M35, M45, Q45, QX4) 

Thank you for the video. Did this yesterday 3/11, on my Infinity M35. BOTH Belts - the main serpentine and the AC belt. You do need to loosen up the pulley nuts first, so the pulley can slide up and down the rail tracks when you loosen or tighten the long adjuster bolts. once you tighen up the adjuster bolt and the belts are tight, then tighten up the pulley nut. #14 for the pulley nut, #12 for the adjuster bolt. No need to take the pulleys apart, just a few twists to loosen them. I had a problem with the AC pulley, the adjuster [long] bolt was seized up from rust, so I dismantled the AC pulley, sprayed the long nut with WD40, viced it up and kept tugging at it, until it was good. easy re-assemble. ALL in ALL, $13.99 for the serpentine, about the same for the AC belt. Mechanics, around my way, want to charge 100-150/hr for the same job, plus parts. pfft. P.S. for the serpentine belt, get the # if still visible, so they can give you the correct part at the auto parts place when they cross reference it. my serpentine was original factory part from when the car was built... cause a bit of confusion before I finally got the right serp belt. .

Forgot a step for each tensioner. You must loosen the pulley nut before you’ll gain any slack when you loosen the tension bolts.

This is very differnt from the 4.1L V8 97-01 Q45...anybody got a video on it?

This is not how our FX45 is at all. We have a gigantic rad fan, and it's tiiiiiiight inside a housing so I can't see how I can maneuver the belt around it to remove the belt... how in the world do I get these belts off with that?? I tried removing parts to get to the fan... spilled coolant out of the top hose (messy fak) and just... couldn't.... see how to do this?? I've done these belts on my Silverado; easy peasy... I get the process... but I just don't understand how to get this fan off. 2005 FX45. No videos exist that I can find. Any ideas?

Hi, I was replacing the belts and like you said, the tensioner bolt on the right side is being a problem, it doesn't want to slide down. I don't want to put too much pressure on it because it might break, if you had this problem, how did you go about dealing with it?

Great video! Replaced the serpentine and AC Belt on mine a couple weeks ago. Question, do those Belt Tensioner Tools work for our vehicle? I see a lot of folks just pressing the tensioner pulley down to relieve the tension.
