how to replace laptop CD/DVD drive with HDD DELL LATITUDE E6410 

It's a good idea - I mean if you REALLY NEED a solid format for data these days... That is what micro SD cards and USB flash drives are for. Surely? I did this with my e6410. Best upgrade ever. SSD for main drive - which is pretty much JUST for the OS. Second drive for all my files - which is a good old fashioned SATA 500Gb Toshiba laptop HDD. In case anyone is wondering why a HDD for files... It's simple. A traditional HD (as opposed to an electronic drive - like an SSD) if it goes wrong does so in steps. So, if I start getting bad sectors - I just migrate my files to an external drive all data is saved. No issues. An SDD doesn't fail like that. It. Just. Stops. No chance to recover data. Just watch it die - one second working. Next, every thing has gone. I've only ever been unlucky once with a catastrophic drive failure on a traditional drive once... it failed after around 20 years of rather light use.... The read/write head decided to behave like a plough. Did a good job of welding itself to the platter too. In the same timescale - I have lost count of how many SDD, USB drives and SD cards I've had just die. And yes, backup is still a thing you're going to need to do.

My E6410 does not have a screw to hold the DVD drive in place at the bottom of the laptop -- where did you get yours from?
