Great instructions, not like the other video I just watched where they failed to mention the screws behind the rubber plugs in the bezel. Thanks for putting this out there for folks.

Excellent video and I love my Yoga X1. Word of warning, on finally fixing the screen in and clipping it into place, be VERY VERY careful. One wrong move and my new screen cracked! I rushed and instead of sliding it gently into place I was man handling it. Rendered useless again as a touch screen in a split second! Gutted! My bad. Your instructions were very concise and clear and exactly what I needed. Totally my fault.

Thank You! The LCD connector on my X1 Yoga came loose, so the backlight didn't work, even though the image was still on the screen (too dark to see). This gave me the steps and confidence to fix it myself! Opened it up, and sure enough, the connector on the screen was slightly crooked and loose. Pushed it back, and voila, works again! Saved me a lot of time and headaches.

I currently have this problem with my laptop (same spec). I'm yet to get to check the connector. I will give it a look asap.

Hi! I have a Lenovo X1 Yoga gen 3 with a cracked screen. Want to replace it myself, which is why I was watching your video. The Gen 3 does not have any screw/cover assembly at the base of the screen as far as I can tell, so I'll have to look that up. There is an extra piece of plastic there but no screw. But the main reason for this comment is I wanted to say that this the touch screen was working up to the moment I fell and cracked the screen. The unit is still working perfectly now except the screen has a hole in it and the touch screen capability is gone. This unit is straight from the factory with no prior repairs, so I expect it is all appropriate OEM parts. I think cracking the screen broke the touch screen capability. Just writing about this because the unit you are repairing had the wrong screen, but given my experience is it possible it was working as a touch screen until it cracked? If you have any videos for the gen-3 unit I'd love to see them!

Since it was working until it was dropped, most likely the impacted screen also has damaged the touch functionality. Some screens have a digitizer glued to them other ones it is an on-cell touch display. Getting the screen replaced will most likely fix the issue

Those models have a lot of screen issues. It is most likely the screen needs to be replaced. But can also be caused from the gpu if you have nvidia graphics

If you are talking about the CMOS battery, a lot of the newer windows boards for laptops do not have a separate battery to remove. There most likely are jumpers which you can "short" to clear it (it may say CMOS in small writing). Just be careful as it is easy to damage the motherboard that way and know why you are doing it in the first place

Lenovo usually has a FRU # you can locate on the lcd itself, most panels have there own model number as well

As long as the model still the same you do not have to worry about the Gen. Should be close enough.

Can you connect a Lcd to a Laptop that had OLED originally? Im sick of Oled. It got messed up because of brightness settings twice now. Im done with that

No, different power requirements and connections, you can hurt your computer if you don't use the same screen type/resolution
